Alma House -Stay and play in the high country

WELCOME TO ALMA HOUSE
Welcome to Alma House, an historic rooming house with a hip-yet-homey vibe, and situated in the middle of every mountain activity you could possibly imagine and right on Main Street in Alma, Colorado.

THE TOWN OF ALMA
Our town is situated in the heart of Colorado’s breathtaking high country, known for it’s natural beauty, rich history, and outdoor activities including skiing, snowboarding, biking, fly fishing, hiking, rafting, mining, and other adventuring.

The Town of Alma is a walkable and welcoming town with The Black Kettle Coffee Shop, Bristlecone Bakery, The South Park Saloon, Hoosier Daddy Liquors, Alma's Gym, High Country Healing Dispensary, and Al-Mart, North America's highest general store, within 20 steps of the front door of Alma House.

Dogs UPON APPROVAL: $50/dog w/2 dog max.

NOT FOR WILD PARTIES/FOR MATURE ADULTS AND FAMILIES
18 people max (adults/children) No additional guests w/o approval.

Hosts live on the private lower level and are available if needed.

INTERACTION WITH HOSTS
You will have private access to the Main level, and the entire upper level rooms as well. The main entrance of Alma House is on Main Street is strictly for guest access only.

Your hosts, Sam, and Hannah, reside on the property in an apartment on the lower level. While their apartment is inaccessible to guests the entrance to their apartment is through the back stairwell, which is separated from the private guest area by a code locked door. You may see them from time to time entering or exiting their apartment (if you are in the lower level laundry) or about town.

We are very easy going and delighted to have you at Alma House. Our goal is to ensure your stay is safe, private and exceptional! Feel free to reach out if there is anything you need during your stay. Our contact information can be found in the welcome book.

LOCATION: On Main Street in Alma, Colorado.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: 18 PEOPLE TOTAL. Children do not stay for free and are included in maximum the occupancy count.

$500.00 DEPOSIT.

DOGS UPON APPROVAL: Up to 2 well behaved, house broken dogs are welcome. $50.00 flat fee per dog at the time of reservation. (non-negotiable).

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: Please note before booking that Check-In is 4:00 p.m. and Check-Out is 10:00 a.m. If you wish we will greet you upon Check-In to ensure access to the building, and we will be happy to provide a tour or you may explore. Details provided in our welcome book.

THE EXPERIENCE
Our recently renovated building is a welcoming place to land after a day of work, play, or adventure.

Settle into your comfortable and well-appointed room or join your crew in our huge kitchen and common room.

THE LAYOUT/AMENITIES
Spacious 2-story, 6 bedroom, 5 bathroom rooming house with full kitchen and extra-large dining and living room right in the heart of town with a gorgeous mountain view. Ideal for large groups coming together to explore and play in the high country.

MAIN FLOOR
Open floorplan with full, well stocked kitchen, dining area, and several comfortable seating areas for gathering, eating, playing games, or watching the game on our large screen Smart TV. Also on the main floor is an accessible bedroom across from our accessible, full bathrooms.

UPPER FLOOR
2 queen bedrooms, 2 single bunk rooms, 2 queen + single bunk rooms, and 2 full bathrooms with showers (no tubs). Each bedroom has a wardrobe or dresser. The upper floor also boasts a small lounge with Smart TV.

LOWER LEVEL
Our laundry room is located on the lower level with a large capacity washer and dryer across from another full bathroom.

PARKING
Alma House parking is dedicated for our guests only and can accommodate 10+ cars. If additional parking is needed, please let us know in advance of booking.

FREE WIFI. Working while on the road? We have free wifi via Starlink available so you can have those virtual meetings and send those emails before hitting the slopes or trails.

GETTING HERE

WINTER GUESTS
Your vehicle must be well-equipped for snow-packed and winter road conditions. During certain weather and road conditions vehicles may be required to apply auto socks or chains. You should always check the Colorado Department of Transportation website or call for updates on road conditions and any chain requirements.

SNOW PLOWS
Be mindful of SNOW PLOWS during the winter months. Snow plows may plow overnight and throughout the day as necessary to keep the roads and highways passable for travelers.

FREE BUS
The Park County Commuter is a FREE bus that travels from Fairplay, through Alma, to Breckenridge and back several times daily, with the bus stop less than a 5 minute walk from the front door of Alma House.

GROCERIES
Al-Mart General store is right across the street from Alma House and has, well generally speaking, everything!

Groceries are also available in Fairplay, Colorado, and is roughly a 12 to 15 minute drive from Alma House.
