House is clean and great location to town. We didn’t go in the basement so I can’t speak to anything there. The only issue we had was with extremely slow wi-fi. Normally, it wouldn’t be an issue because we are usually out doing activities; however, we were stuck inside a few times for a few hours due to storms and the slow wi-fi got a bit frustrating. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
Saugatuck was the perfect place to stay - small town with great shops and restaurants right on the water. We had a great time at Tulip Time Festival in Holland. This house was perfectly located and had a great view of the River when sitting on the back deck.
Great location for walking to most places in Saugatuck. It was also easy to drive from there to nearby places. Very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the deck and small yard.
Very cute property, nice patio, with decent sized backyard with nice pond and fire pit. Short little walk to downtown.
We enjoyed our stay and looking forward to returning back to this property again in the future.
We enjoyed staying at this home because it had everything we needed, and it was close to downtown Saugatuck. It is located in the historic district in a very nice neighborhood. The owner provides many modern amenities and the home is very roomy. We will definitely be back!
Great house, walking distance to Saugatuck, for a vacation!
We stayed at this property for 4 nights to visit Saugatuck and the surrounding area. We got plenty of communication prior to arrival, that told us everything we needed to know - location, parking, key code to enter. There was a binder on the kitchen table with additional details (WiFi, garage use, check-out, clean-up, etc.) and resources for the area. The house itself was comfortable. 2 bedrooms with big enough beds for 2 people each, plus a futon in the family room. There is an unfinished basement that has a couple games (air hockey, foosball) that the kids absolutely loved. We used the fire pit on our final night to roast marshmallows. It would have been helpful to know where we could get firewood and supplies, but a quick Google search got me figured out. Saugatuck was a short 1/2 mile walk away, which was perfect for visiting a few times. Before you get into downtown Saugatuck, there is an event space that always had something going on. The neighborhood was great. The house is located right after a curve on the road going into the town, so it's a little dangerous to cross the road to get to the sidewalk. It was not a big deal, but you have to be aware. Since the driveway is right after the curve, it's also a little tricky to pull out, but again that's not the property owner's fault. It was an absolutely wonderful stay and if we come back, we will definitely consider staying at this property again. Thanks for the warm welcome and comfortable house!
Cottage has a beautiful view of the lake, great location - could walk to downtown Saugatuck from there. Perfect place for two couples - two bedrooms, each with its own bathrooom. New stove (with griddle) and a new side-by-side fridge! Huge new gas grill - perfect for grilling! Huge cable TV!
Enjoyed lake view from deck.
Hot water tank temp set too high. Water gets scalding hot quickly, dangerous for all ages.
Replace king mattress.
Have structural integrity of deck examined. It moves. To be on safe side, we decided 3 adults
was a safe limit to on deck at same time.
My parents owned this house from the late 1990s through 2007. They installed the pond, the landscaping, and an addition to the original house, and a large addition to the deck. It was wonderful to see all those things still in use! It brought back so many memories being there!
I stayed with my spouse, brother and his spouse. We were able to walk downtown easily to all desired activities and restaurants. The neighbors are quiet. The view is nice.
The house is well appointed with sufficient dishes and paper products. It was nice and clean upon arrival. The host was responsive to text during the stay. We loved it!
We enjoyed our stay here at the house. Was close to to both downtown Saugatuck and Douglas. If your traveling with a small pet, just be aware that the decking rails are far enough apart that a small dog could fit through the rails. I wish it was a little more convenient taking our small pups out to relieve themselves. You have to take them down the upper deck steps, or go around the front, to the back of the house. Their is a very small strip of grass out front near the road that I guess you could use. But that being said, if your not traveling with a pet then that shouldn’t be an inconvenience. We spent most of our time out and about anyways. The home was cooled nicely for July weather. They have a new or newer sectional in the living room that was cozy. The cleaning service could probably vacuum the little critters on the bedroom walls. It’s Michigan, your going to get critters ( insects). They just need to be a little more observant, unless their vacuum doesn’t have attachments? All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

Great location, a bit dated
Great location. Can walk to many things and a peekaboo view of the lake. No lake access. My room was clean but my son's room had a lot of weevil bugs. Cottage is a bit dated and the master bed is huge but needs new mattress (too soft and sags in the middle) and bedframe (squeaks very loudly if u so much as move your legs, much less if you roll over. Son's bed was newer and much better shape. He says was comfy. Had extra blankets, pillows, and towels which is always nice.
We really enjoyed a long weekend at this house, enjoying all that Saugatuck and the surround area have to offer. The property was clean with and spacious, with plenty of room for our party to spread out. We enjoyed the deck and the outdoor spaces as well. Small, minor improvements would be: a working toaster, a full-sized coffee pot (Keurig provided), and dusting/cleaning the windowsills and AC units. Overall, this was an amazing and comfortable stay! We will be back :)
