A Peaceful Island Getaway in a Beautiful Waterfront Home

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Matia Escape. This was our first visit to Orcas Island and we are so happy we chose this home. Kristen was very responsive from booking through departure. The home has everything that you could want for a stay. The home was clean, the kitchen was well stocked, the bed was comfortable, and the water pressure was great. It really started to feel like home. The location of the home right next to the water is beautiful and this part of the island is so peaceful. The deck was an amazing spot to relax and look out for the deer, river otters, humback whale and bald eagles. We really appreciated the local recommendations and enjoyed exploring this beautiful island.

My husband and I had a lovely stay for our 10 year wedding anniversary. The house was cute and clean, and the view was amazing! We saw seals, otters, bald eagles, and deer. The location was so quiet and peaceful, and it was just a quick drive to town.

This is an absolutely beautiful and completely updated couples hideaway! The house is stocked with literally everything that you’d find at home and the view is simply breathtaking! Throw in a pod of Orcas swimming by, a harbor seal living and playing nearby, and a bald eagle flying directly over us, and you can imagine why we didn’t want to leave.Kristen was also fabulous to work with and very communicative! We would definitely return for another stay while on the Islands!

Nicely appointed house. Great view. Good location, 5 minutes to town and 15 to Rosario Harbor. Had a great breakfast at Blackfish Cafe. Didn’t realize most places are closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays (the two days we were there).

My fiancé and I just got engaged this weekend and spent the weekend celebrating at this beautiful property. The host was so kind to recommend things to do around the island. The weekend flew by but it will be one we never forget. Amazing house with even better views. We’ll be back for sure!!
