Hope Habour SSI - Walk to Beach

Once you turn down this oak-canopied lane, you begin to experience true St. Simons living. Walk in the Cottage and your mood will immediately relax and you'll be on 'Island Time'. Hope Harbour can provide all your needs for a fun-filled, relaxing vacation at the beach. Unpack and GO! Be sure to click on more details and you can reach out to me. The Cottage is located in the much sought-after south end of the Island and is just a 10-min walk from the ocean/beach - you can walk or bike there or choose to do the Village and Pier instead. The Cottage is lovingly decorated with antiques from around the world, has vaulted ceilings, fans in every room and authentic linoleum tiled floors throughout. Relax in the sunroom, read in the screened-in front porch or kick back on the deck. The deck has plenty of seating, tables for dining, and is located in a private fenced backyard. The deck is low to the ground and does have ramps for wheel chair accessibility. Bicycles and beach chairs are available for your use, as well as beach umbrellas and a beach cart. Just bring your beach towel and you're all set. Charcoal and gas grills on the deck. Harmonious. Hope Harbour Cottage is a single level Cottage and is suitable for an active family, seniors wanting the quiet and ease of a retreat or love birds needing a private hideaway. Fido will love the backyard! You'll love Hope Harbour as much as I do.

The house was in great location and in very good shape. The bedrooms, bathrooms, and living quarters very good. Deck and backyard very useful and pleasant, and communication with host very helpful. Cruiser bicycles (2) also appreciated, in particular the one with brand new tires. All told, a very good experience and value close to the wonderful beach. Highly recommended.

Perfect family getaway!

This house was so wonderful for our family! We loved the way it was decorated and how secluded it felt! Perfect little hideaway in a quiet and friendly neighborhood! Everything we needed was within minutes of the house and we felt so assured that if we had needed anything Nancy would’ve answered immediately. We didn’t end up needing to contact Nancy because of how well she prepared us with instructions and recommendations! Can’t wait to be back hopefully sometime next year!

I have been coming to St. Simons for almost 20 years now and knew I would want to one day, retire on the Island. There is a small town feel to SSI that is unsurpassed and after living in the hard-charging corporate world the majority of my life, collecting sea shells on the beach was pretty attractive. I love the history of the Island and the myriad of stories you will hear from the 'old timers'. I love being able to bike just about everywhere and the friendliness of the Island people. SSI felt like home to me and I keep coming back year-after-year.

Why they chose this property

I knew that this Cottage would, one day, be my home. The backyard is unsurpassed. The deck is huge and has plenty of room for separate areas. I wanted to share Hope Harbour's serenity with you. When I walked into Abednego Cottage in 2012 (now called Hope Harbour Cottage as of 8/1/13), it 'spoke' to me. I hope you will treat it as you would your own home.

What makes this property unique

The backyard and huge deck is, by far, my favourite place. There is absolutely nothing more important than spending a little 'Island Time' on the deck and watching a sunrise or sunset. The beach is only 4 blocks away. You'll love the flow of the Cottage - very easy living.
