Majestic Getaway Cabin near Wake Forest University
Check Out our Cabin- It was Featured in Winston Salem Monthly Magazine November 2017 issue!
Our unique Cabin is a 3 bd, 3 ba with en suite/family room and comfy sofa bed for a fourth bedroom option. Sleeps 8 comfortably. Wifi, TV cable & Netflix, Amazon & Hulu. Fully equipped kitchen, laundry, large porches, great grill and wonderful secludedness. Lovely for a small family gathering to a magical stay-cation!
Our lodge was originally a small cabin, built in the 1930's. It is a modern equipped Home , with Ac/heat, and electric stove range and dishwasher yet still has all the original cabin charm from its birth. . it was kept in possession by the same family and in-laws and wasn't truly updated until the last few years. All the stone fireplaces and foundation you will see is original beautiful rock from our local and Historic Hanging Rock National Park.
The Property itself is nestled back away from the road down a long private drive in the woods. We do have neighbors but no one is that close. So if you want the feeling of getting away to the middle of practically nowhere, but be able to get to all the local hangs of Downtown, Arts District, Reynolda Village and Gardens, Wake Forest University which is only a mile away and major grocery stores including Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, in 10 min or less then you will enjoy staying here!
Beautiful views of oak trees and pines, and a great place to watch deer and sometimes see a few ground hogs foraging around. The cardinals and yellow finches are breathtaking and you are bound to have memorable mornings here sipping coffee or tea on one of our 3 beautiful stone porches!
The cabin has a special personality and loves to be admired and appreciated! With a cabin comes quirks sometimes even if everything is updated and modern conveniences are provided don’t be surprised if occasionally you come across a spider or a cobweb. They work fast and sometimes faster than we can clean. And we clean a lot!
With that said, We hope you leave your stay here feeling refreshed and treated well.

The cabin was a wonderful retreat while in the area with young kids. We enjoyed the spacious cabin with plenty of room for all the to enjoy each other's company.
We had a fantastic stay. The cabin is beautiful and spacious, with lots of great touches like the corn hole boards and a swing for the kids. The kitchen had everything, including condiments, which made preparing meals easy.
This cabin was perfect for my 3-generational family gathering. It's comfortable, beautifully decorated, & quiet. The dining table easily seats 10, which meant that elderly relatives who live nearby could easily join us for meals.

Thank you for that awesome review!
It was a pleasure Paul to host you and your wife and colleagues! So kind and understanding and very easy to communicate with. You left the place in great condition! Come back again anytime!
Beautiful historic property! We enjoyed the sprawling layout, large kitchen, dining and living rooms, and secluded feel. We also liked the three full baths and interesting old books and collectibles. The only negatives were dim lighting and spending a lot of time killing millipedes
We loved our time in Megan and Wades cabin . Highly recommend!

Thank you Elizabeth! My apologies for taking so long to respond. The times now have carried a lot of us away. It was a pleasure having your family Such a wonderful month and my youngest son still talks about yours. You left the place in wonderful condition and hope to see you again soon! Great guests!!
The cabin is exactly as described - it is rustic, which is what we wanted, but beautiful and with great character. It's worth noting that the place was well maintained, extremely clean for an older property and surprisingly bug free despite the change of seasons...
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this spacious, quiet, charming, and relaxing property. The owners couldn't have been more accommodating even up to having a hot pot of coffee ready for our arrival.

Thank you Hannah! So glad it was a successful weekend! Congrats!
We spent the weekend with our adult children and our grandchildren and the house was absolutely perfect for us! The large living room made hanging out together so much fun and the super long dining room table was great for our meals. We had some family over for dinner and easily sat the 13 of us at the table. The cabin is so charming, the beds comfy and Meagan has all the necessities to make your trip hassle free. Communication with Meagan was always answered promptly. We hope to stay again our next time to Winston-Salem.

Cozy and inviting home with so much charm. We sure hope to be able to return again!
I can not say enough about Megan and her willingness to accommodate our family
This was a gem in Winston-Salem. Old historic property that has been well cared for through the generations. The hosts were nearby and accessible but not intrusive in any way. We had a great stay and would definitely stay here again if it’s available!
Very nice and unique getaway within city limits. So enjoyed our family (delayed) Christmas fellowship and reunion with other W-S area family. Felt as if we we i the mountains yet convenient to so much. Great job on this fantastic historical gem!

About the host
Hosted by Meagan Robinson
My husband Wade and I are transplants to Winston although my husband is originally from NC. We have both travelled much and lived in different countries and states all over the US. Wade was an LA based and award winning Design/Builder who specializes in historic preservation and restoration and is designing partner in a restaurant group here in Winston and is part owner of Earl’s restaurant on 9th and Trade in the North End and Joyner's Bar in West End. I come from a long background of Arts and Music having been a singer songwriter for years on the west coast and now I spend my days running the Vacation Rental, raising our 4 children and homeschooling. We love this city and sometimes wonder how we were lucky enough to end up here. We have loved creating a beautiful experience for others to get lost in!
What makes this property unique
It is an experience unlike any other home here in Winston... if you love to retreat and get away but be close to all the modern and local amenities. Staying with us, you’d never know you were still in the city and surrounded in such history and beautiful art and a ton of books to dive into.
