Welcome to The Bear’s Lair—where fresh mountain air replaces notifications, and the only deadlines involve roasting marshmallows. Tucked away in the woods of Berkeley Springs, WV, this multi-level cabin is your perfect escape—just 10 minutes from downtown’s quirky boutiques, 11 minutes from Cacapon State Park, and 44 minutes from Whitetail Resort for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing.

The main level is designed for effortless relaxation. The fully stocked kitchen makes meal prep a breeze, whether you're flipping pancakes or mixing après-ski cocktails. The cozy living room features an oversized sectional, a crackling woodstove, and a TV—perfect for movie nights or mid-day naps. Two queen bedrooms share a full bathroom with a shower and soaking tub, accessible from both the hallway and one of the bedrooms (because convenience matters).

Upstairs, retreat to the king-size ensuite, complete with a cozy reading nook for peaceful mornings. The loft space is ideal for puzzles, crafts, or remote work, featuring a play couch and a futon that converts into a double bed. A shared upstairs bathroom with dual access adds to the ease.

Downstairs, it’s all about fun. While there’s no bathroom on this level, you’ll hardly notice with shuffleboard, arcade games, foosball, and a mountain of board games at your fingertips. There’s also a bonus TV lounge with a small futon, plus a bedroom with two twin beds (which can be converted into a king—just let us know!).

Traveling with little cubs? We’ve got you covered with a portable crib, baby bathtub, high chair, booster seat, baby gates, step stool, and potty seat—because a happy kid means a happy vacation.

Step outside and let the adventure begin. Unwind in the outdoor sauna, gather around the fire pit, or challenge your crew with axe throwing, cornhole, or Tetris Tumble XL. The wood-fired hot tub—complete with firewood, a hose, and easy-to-follow instructions—is the ultimate way to soak under the stars. Enjoy outdoor dining at the picnic table, fire up the BBQ grill, or relax in the screened porch, where the only interruptions are birdsong and the occasional deer sighting.

As our guest, you’ll also have access to Coolfont Mountainside Association’s seasonal pool, hot tub, tennis and basketball courts, and nearby hiking trails. Four neighborhood pool-hot tub passes are included with your stay. Additional single-day passes are available for $15 each and must be pre-arranged with the property host.

At Cacapon State Park, explore the nature center, playground, scenic trails, and a sandy beach (cash-only admission).
