We absolutely loved our stay at the Westlake Milford Lodge. The cottage was cosy and quiet. It was exactly what we were looking for to enjoy a romantic New Years. The cabin was chilly when we arrived but there was an extra heater provided to help warm us up. We were happy to have read a previous review telling us to bring slippers. We used the BBQ provided to cook our dinner one night.
Our only suggestion would be to have a larger mat at the entrance as our boots were very snowy & sloppy each time we came in & out.
The place was amazing, only 1 reason I can't give it a 5. It comes with the season, but the cabin floor was cold. Maybe consider lifting and insulating next time they need to renovate.

I had a nice stay at the Westlake cottages, It was easy to book, the property manager was easy to contact and responed quickly! The area is quite nice, with access to the water with chairs and such to enjoy the view. The room is a good size with a super comfortable bed (best part about this booking), a small kitchen a full bathroom, and a little front deck to sit outside. The a/c was cold and so was the fridge! but the shower water was nice and warm.My only gripe is that there was a little bit of mold in the washroom by the shower, but I imagine that they are aware of this and are in process to look after it.This is a great spot if you're looking for something close to Sandbanks for a reasonable price. I would book again for sure!
