Loved the fishing gear as decor. We’ve stayed at several different places and this one is the best. Covered boat slip, fish cleaning station, comfy beds. For a couple of old fisherman, we could not asked for any better!
I've struggled with how I was going to review this stay. I was looking for the most remote place I could find. I needed full nature and full quiet; away from the city sounds. I wake up to the sounds of a jackhammer, backup beeping and hydraulic equipment. The people across the cove were building a dock. A house is being built across the street. That went on for two weeks. Those are both temporary conditions and the host has no control over that. We stayed for three weeks. The property is gorgeous. We had a great time fishing. Caught quite a lot of TN fish. I loved the house. It was cozy. It was the most well stocked place I've ever stayed. We had everything we needed to cook. The beds were comfy, the furniture was comfy. The screened porch was amazing. I adored the dark wood in the living room. It was a bit over decorated for my taste, made it feel more crowded than it was. Too much religious stuff. When we are renting to all types of people, not all of them are going to be religious. We enjoyed ourselves except for that stupid dock being built v
The only reason I gave a lower overall rating is due to an unresolved issue I reported to the property manager shortly after arriving. Two of the three fire alarms were chirping nonstop throughout the weekend, including one in the master bedroom. I emailed the manager shortly after check-in to ask if there were replacement batteries available in the home but received no response.I ended up purchasing batteries myself and replaced the old ones, but the chirping continued. Upon checkout on Sunday, I emailed the manager again to explain the situation. The only response I received was a brief "thank you for letting us know." I wasn’t expecting reimbursement—just a simple apology would have gone a long way.For the record, I typically don’t leave negative reviews, but I’m sharing this feedback in hopes it helps improve the experience for future guests. Also worth noting: the smoke alarms were expired, with labels indicating expiration dates back to 2014.
