We had a wonderful time staying here with our extended family. We spent almost every day at the beach and then were able to come home, make a quick dinner, and then relax on one of the two porches. Having the ping-pong table was an extra bonus for my older grandson and son in law. There were many happy memories made during our stay!
Great communication from Rosanne. House was perfect for our group with the teens having an area of their own to watch Netflix movies, play games and ping pong. Drove to beach which was very nice and relaxing! Thank you for a great stay!
House was great . Had all the things you need to make your stay is less stressful. Loved the private beach . Definitely want to go back my kids loved it.
House was awesome. Plenty of room for the 9 of us. Grandkids had plenty of space to hang. Lots of places to go & things to see & do. Most were within 30 minutes or less. Beach was great. Hopefully, we'll be back next year.
Home was very nice. Lots of room! My teenage granddaughter and daughter loved the extra space downstairs. They had their own movie nights down there. Porch was great as it rained most of week. Beach was beautiful on sunny days. Would definatley recommend.

Disliked: Cleanliness, communication
The bottom floor of the house was infested with mold, mildew, and dead rodents and the property owner was rude and antagonizing about the situation at every juncture. They even pestered me about why I hadn't checked out a day before my rental was over. Most hosts would apologize and fix the situation but they fought back until I started peeling open ceiling tiles to prove how bad the mold was. They told me to "just open the windows and turn on the dehumidifiers" I then had to deal with multiple contractors showing up at the house for several days, including the socially awkward handyman who arrived at 830 AM on a Saturday morning unannounced. I initially agreed to receiving a single night refund on fees but after realizing there was a serious mold situation (I'm allergic) and dead rodents I asked for another several nights which host reluctantly agreed to.We were entirely polite and reasonable about the situation so being treated so rudely on top of not being able to use one of the bedrooms and the recreation room was a big disappointment. The upstairs part of the house is 'fine' albeit every one of the beds must be 30 years old, are concave, and extremely uncomfortable. The not-completely-filled waterbed in one of the rooms really adds to the whole "charm". The downstairs feels like a slimy dungeon.Overall the place is sort of grungy and not well maintained. I do not understand how it has such a high rating.

I had a 9.8 rating from all previous renters over the past nine years. That should tell you something about this renter. Once I receive the photos of the mold on the under side of the ceiling tiles, I took immediate action by having a mold remediation company on the premises the very next day, and my Handyman there to remove the affected tiles the day after. I did refund him three nights stay, which I might add, he waited till he received it before writing this scathing review.
That being said, this guy was aggressive and sly from the very beginning. I have a no pet policy, which he circumvented by putting a deposit down and then telling me he’s bringing his service dog. I understand that I cannot refuse someone with a service dog, however, how inconsiderate is this guy? I have a no pet policy because my son is allergic and now I will have to have all upholstered furniture cleaned. This guy also continued to annoy me by repeatedly texting about one thing or another. First, it was the Wi-Fi. Turns out the password was case sensitive which he failed to put in properly. And he said the basement was smelly and had mildew. I instructed him to check the two humidifiers to see that they were running and to send me pictures of the mildew which shows up as gray or white film on the furniture. There was no such proof so he complained about there being TWO dehumidifiers in the basement. All basements have a musty smell, especially those in the middle of a wooded area so I told them to just air it out. The next thing I knew, he had taken down ceiling tiles, taken pictures and sent it to both me and VRBO. As soon as I saw those pictures, I took steps to remediate the problem. There was a mold remediation company at the house the very next day. Two days later, my Handyman went in and removed the affected tiles after texting the man that he would be over. Lumpy beds? He’s obviously fussy. There are all kinds of mattresses for all kinds of people from firm Tempur-pedic to pillow tops. The mattresses are fine.Rodents? Yes, there was ONE dead MOUSE in the Space between the ceiling and the tile. That happens in wooded areas and even in towns. I do have a pest control company to control pests. This guy was judgmental and a complainer even finding fault with my Handyman calling him socially awkward. Who does that?
We had a wonderful stay in a clean, comfortable home with all the amenities, Only wish there were kayaks available. Our family of 8 had a restful vacation spending most of the time floating on the lake!
This was just as described and fit our needs for the long weekend. Neat and clean with clear instructions prior to and on location. One note - if you arrive after dark, it would benefit you to bring a flashlight. Not a lot of light pollution in the area, which is just the way I like it! :-)
Home is nice, has plenty of daily living amenities. Worked great for 3 couples. If you want a quiet place to stay this is the place for you. We enjoyed our time with plenty of room for us; we were able to enjoy each other’s company and have some alone time.
We had 5 children ages 13-18 with us and we did not feel cramped. The beach area was a little further than I thought but it was still a lovely area that wasn’t crowded. Owner was very responsive to our one minor issue. A great house in a very quiet area. It was a great time had by all to unplug and connect.

Comfortable and accommodating!
This is a beautiful home that sleeps 11 people. The location is private as it is surrounded by woods. Very quiet and dark at night. Kitchen is well equipped which made food prep easy. Two bathrooms made it easy for 7 of us to shower and get ready for our day. The owner was easy to communicate with and was concerned with our needs and concerns! The only thing missing was WIFI... if that is something you are looking for?
