This cottage strikes just the right balance between the charms of a traditional beach cabin and the conveniences of modern living. It’s a beautiful property in a wonderful location. My family and I loved our time staying here.

Wonderful historic and traditional Nags Head cottage. Brings you back in time with modern amenities including well-appointed full kitchen and appliances, instant tankless water heaters, 4 showers (including a lovely outside enclosed shower), views of Jockey Ridge Sand Dune and Sunsets from the front porch and the beach and pastel- colored sunrise skies from the back porch. Tastefully decorated and loved the rich feeling of the wood planked walls and ceilings. Many areas to gather both outside on the wrap around porch and inside throughout. Our host was very quick to respond to questions and offered lovely suggestions. We hope to return someday soon.

I couldn’t have been more pleased. The cottage is lovely. Everything was clean, the host was efficient from start to finish and the location perfect, as expected. I wanted my children and grand-babies to have an “Old Style” Nags Head experience and they did.

I stayed for two weeks in October. This property was beautiful and clean. The host was very responsive even though I had no issues. The photos of the view don't do it justice. It appears that the view is limited but you do have a nice view of the ocean. Be aware that there are many steps. Access to the beach is very nice and close. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved the character of the 1938 beach house with some of the original things like door latches and tongue and groove board walls, and we loved the location. There was no electrical outlet in the bathroom of the main floor bathroom—updating this would be a plus. The sunrise views were gorgeous. There were many steps to the main floor and to the top floor which were challenging for some of our family. The home was nicely decorated with antiques. There was a bulb out in the kitchen ceiling fan, and in one bedroom you couldn’t turn off the light of the ceiling fan—it was all or none. The AC went out one evening of our stay. We reported the outage early on the following day. The host was quick to respond and to communicate but was slow to send an AC technician. It was getting near the end of the day, and 3 of the four bedrooms were on the floor with temperatures of 79 degrees. Finally a technician was sent and repaired the problem in about 30 minutes. It was a good vacation and stay overall.

We stayed over Memorial Day Weekend 2026 as a family of eight and had a very good stay overall. The location is excellent: a short walk to the beach, a beautiful ocean view from the back porch, and a restaurant, souvenir shopping, fudge, ice cream, and Jockey’s Ridge all very close by.The home was extremely clean, including the kitchen and utensils, and the listing/photos were accurate. Check-in was smooth with the door code, and the host was helpful and attentive without being burdensome. The amenities were also strong. The kitchen appliances and cookware worked well, Wi-Fi was fast and easy, the washer/dryer worked well, and the outdoor foot wash and hot/cold outdoor shower were very convenient after the beach. We also appreciated the Keurig and reverse osmosis drinking water. The reason this is 4 stars instead of 5 is maintenance. Some porch decking near the front door appeared weathered, two bathroom doors had issues, one upstairs bathroom door created privacy concerns, one stair tread seemed to give slightly, and we had a leak from the upstairs main shower into the downstairs bathroom. Since there were other showers, we avoided that one.The total cost was just under 3,000 for three nights, so the maintenance items are worth noting. However, the location, cleanliness, amenities, host professionalism, and 250 beach equipment credit added real value. Overall, we would recommend it, with a few repairs making it an easy 5-star stay.
