This was a great place to stay! We went rafting with Adventures On The Gorge and this stay was just a few minutes away from AOTG check-in making it super convenient! It was very clean and the decor was like something out of a magazine! So welcoming and cozy!
Great location and base for exploring New River Gorge, especially the Fayetteville area. Owner was very responsive and attentive. House was clean, parking was easy. Would stay here again !
Great location for exploring the park and all activities. Our family of 4 had plenty of room and enjoyed our stay. Everything was as pictured and plenty of supplies were provided. There was great communication with the host and easy check in and check out. We loved walking to Swiftwater General store for food. We would recommend and stay here again.
Enjoyed our stay!Needed additional tables or hooks in bathrooms for towels. Ants around the kitchen sink were a pest. Otherwise very clean and pleasant.
Our family had a wonderful stay and Elizabeth was a pleasure to work with and an excellent communicator. Location was great and the house was as advertised by the pics (very comfortable, modern and clean). Would definitely stay here on a return visit. Added convenience of being able to walk to a general store for snacks and a breakfast sandwich/quick lunch.
This house offers everything you need for a fantastic stay in this beautiful area of WV. Location is unbeatable, amenities are top notch, and the environment felt homey. It exceeded our expectations. Great for a couple or larger families.
Elizabeth was a great host. Kept us informed and provided tons of information. It’s an older home but updated quite nicely.Location is great for all outdoor activities and plenty of restaurants.
If you are visiting Adventures on the Gorge this is a great place to stay! It is less than a 1 minute drive to AOTG. The House was spacious and decorated very nicely! Working with the homeowner was excellent! The only down fall was the mattresses were extremely hard! Not just firm, hard.
Negative- No washer/dryer or garage/covered parking.

Beth, thank you so much for staying with us at Ames — we're really glad you had a good couple of nights, and we appreciate you taking the time to leave a review.
You're right that the home doesn't have a washer/dryer — that's something we make sure to note in our listing so guests can plan ahead, and it sounds like it would have been a helpful amenity for your trip. Parking at the home is open-air rather than covered, which is standard for our area. We always aim to describe the home exactly as it is, and we appreciate feedback that helps future guests know what to expect.
We'd love to have you back anytime, Beth — thanks again for choosing our home.
House was wonderful- enjoyed the deck w/ fire table, the grill, and a kitchen with basically all of the gadgets. Beds and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. House was as well-very well done. Very close to Fayetteville and New River Gorge. The neighborhood is textbook rural Appalachia, but never felt unsafe in any way. Would definitely book again.
Property is clean and very conveniently located. The NRG Bridge is less than a mile and both the Endless Wall Trail and Long Point Trail are easily accessible within 15min. Some great Fayetteville restaurants (Secret Sandwich Society, Pies and Pints, Cathedral Cafe) are close by. Communication with host was superb - very responsive and super helpful, providing lots of information about the area. The house was nicely appointed with most anything you would need or want, and the porch firepit was a nice bonus. Several options for river rafting are also nearby. There is some road noise from Ames Heights Road so an ambient noise app might be helpful for sleeping. Overall, a very solid choice for accessing everything the area has to offer! Highly recommended!
Our stay was great and we couldn’t have asked for more. Communication, cleanliness, accuracy of the listing were all excellent. It felt like a home away from home. We were close to everything we went to WV for, like white water rafting and Ace Adventures water park. Restaurants were close as well and easy to get to. If we go back to WV, this will be the only place we’ll be staying.
