Property itself was amazing. Very clean and spacious. The area was absolutely beautiful. Pet friendly was a big plus and the pups really enjoyed themselves as well. The pet fee was also one of the best that I have seen. And the parking area was great.

This place was very peacful. Only thing to consider is that the driveway is pretty steap, a 12 degree incline would be an issue if it snowed, other than that I would book this again.

Friends getaway

This home and location was beautiful on the inside and outside. Serenity abounds from the post and beam open architecture to the babbling creek meandering along the property. It was a joy to spend time there with best friends.

The house is located in a fabulous valley next to the creek. The wildlife is abundant…and the sound of the creek as you sleep helps melt away your troubles. Fireflies flash into the night …along with a chorus of frogs. It’s like going back to your childhood when life was simpler. Location is 5 stars, but the house needs a major deep clean. Beds are comfortable. The ticks can be a problem as our dogs were covered every time we went outside. We also had seed ticks covering our clothes even after spraying. It must be the moist environment where the house is located close to the creek. Just be especially careful and take the time for a tick check on pets and yourself.Be mindful of cars entering the road from surrounding houses as some of the areas have blind spots.

Pretty home right on the creek. My only recommendation is that renters print out a copy of the directions to the house. We had saved the directions in our phone but it ceased to work when we got outside Pearisburg so a ten minute search turned into 2 hours! That was not a big problem since two local men eventually helped us find the road. Also, be aware of the narrow, twisting roads getting to the home. It is on the back side of a beautiful farm so the roads are worth the effort but we only left the house during our five day rental, for a run to Walmartbecause of the roads! My only other comment is for the counter height table & chairs to be replaced with normal height. We had two older folks with mobility problems who struggled with the chairs which were heavy and too tall for them. All in all, we had a wonderful time and would rent it again without hesitation.

Very Relaxing

We really loved our stay here. It is such a beautiful house and the property abounds with birds and wildlife. The property was as described. The appliances were very nice and everything worked perfectly. We really enjoyed the hot tub. The bed was very comfortable and we slept better than we do at home. The open floor plan made the house see even more spacious. Deer frequented the property as well as so many different birds. We drove to Blacksburg one day and enjoyed exploring that town. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is needing some downtime to just relax.

For those looking for a private, comfortable, beautiful, and peaceful retreat beside a mountain stream, this property deserves serious consideration. The house is spacious and tastefully decorated. We particularly loved the covered back porch where we watched deer, a family of common merganser, occasional kingfisher, and bald eagle along Walker Creek. There is no cell phone reception, but the WiFi is strong. WiFi calling, including FaceTime, worked just fine. Plan to bring along all your consumables such as spices, condiments, foil, parchment, baggies, etc. We found a couple of issues on arrival, but the management was responsive and interested in our having an enjoyable experience. My wife and I have visited many different getaways places over the years, and this is one of our favorite spots. We will definitely consider returning for another visit.

The location is remote and aesthetically pleasing overall, but there were a lot of disappointing hiccups. One of the sinks would not drain after the very first use. The kitchen sink also had issues draining properly, so there is a plumbing issue that needs addressing that negatively impacted our stay. There were no directions on how to use the wood stove, so bc we didn’t want an accidental carbon monoxide issue, we couldn’t use it. Then on Friday evening, despite the remote location and lots of directions for us to be mindful of noise level after dark, a car decided to park across the river and literally blast music from 11pm-4am. We got NO sleep that night. It was that obnoxious and we wondered if this was a well-known party spot for teens to drink and party. Also, no dishwashing liquid until we reached out. The dishes in the cabinets also weren’t cleaned effectively. Although, the mgmt company was responsive, all of these issues added up and it became a drag to have so many things going on, and we would not choose to stay there again.
