Close to town for any necessities, beautiful view, plenty of room for all of us, very clean! The coffee maker is a single serve keurig so if you have a lot of coffee lovers in your group, you might want to bring a coffee maker. We would definitely book the cabin again and didn't want to leave!
Perhaps one of the best views of the Adirondacks from the porch. It's a 4 bedroom, but the 4th bedroom is a room off another room so you lose a little privacy. Otherwise a really nice property.
The location and view was perfect! We loved the solitude and peacefulness of the cabin. We had everything we needed and the cabin was very clean. Would definitely stay again.
The setting for this property is absolutely beautiful. The view is magnificent! The cabin is basic and rustic and was nice and clean. My main problem was that there was a strong must/mildew smell throughout the house - I think coming from the wall-to-wall carpet throughout most of the house - which was intense enough that my throat burned from the irritation while I was there. (It helped a little to blow fresh air into the house by putting fans in the windows.) Also, we were disappointed that the VRBO description said there was a "kayak, kayak/canoe" for our use but there wasn't a kayak, only an old metal canoe.
Beautiful views! We enjoyed swimming, canoeing, visiting the nearby town and hiking! Lovely home with a screened-in porch for dining and a large great room where we watched Tour de France in the evenings and play games.
We really enjoyed staying at this special property. The views are super-amazing, and the home is very large, and clean, with plenty of unique memorabilia. Furnishings are comfortable, including the mattresses. We spent a lot of time in the water - we brought our own floaties/inner tubes. We also took the canoe out for a spin. Everything works well, and the property is close to the town of Lake Saranac where there are restaurants, bars, farmer's markets, and other amenities. You get a ton of privacy. The water is a perfect temperature. Not too cold! Watch out for the bugs in July. Would bring a few cooking items - knives, a good veggie peeler, etc. if you cook a lot. There are basic kitchen items, but we ended up needing a few things. Love the dog-friendly aspect of this rental. Is crucial for us when traveling.
This cabin is large, close to town but very secluded, and has a gorgeous view of the lake. We would return here when coming to the area in the future :)
Beautiful property and history abound. Loved the antiques and pictures. The great room and sunporch and screened in porch were all so wonderful. The location for canoers was perfect. Saranac Lake has so much to do and don’t forget to go to Donnellys Ice Cream daily for the best ice cream on Earth!
The view from this home was by far the best we have had from any of the properties we have rented in the Adirondacks. We enjoyed eating in the bug free screened in porch with the lake and mountains as our scenery. The price for this great view is a bit of a challenging walk up and down the hill to get to the water. There is a path, but if you are not in shape it could present a challenge. The inside of the house was clean with very comfortable beds. It is a great family escape if you love the Saranac area. The living room is huge and great for hanging out, but a bit dark inside. The owners are very responsive to questions and easy to talk to. We were fine with no TV for the 10 days we were there, but if you want access to TV you need to bring a Firestick or some kind of device as the TV is not WiFi enabled. Adding a WiFi TV would be helpful for future renters. The biggest disapointment for us was the lack of a firepit and a prohibition on outdoor fires. As former campers there is something special about sitting by an outdoor fire at night under the stars. I have never rented a place that did not have that option so I didn't think to ask about it. There is an indoor fireplace, but it is not the same experience. Great vacation and thanks for letting us stay in your home.
The cabin was very clean, not fancy but your family cabin. The scenery from the porch was beautiful and enjoyed watching the boats on the lake.
Did enjoy the various birds in the morning light. Saw a bald eagle and enjoyed the Loons each morning and evening. The town of Saranac Lake was quaint and enjoyed talking to the locals- especially Ann at Ann's Crepe shop! Breakfast was delicious at Ann's!
This was our 3rd stay at Sky Acres. The house is very comfortable for our party of 7-8 adults. Plenty of room for everyone. The view is incomparable. Dock area is not easy to access and needs a lot of improvements to make it safer and usable.
Great property, amazing views. It’s our 3rd stay here. Wish they had a way to watch TV. They could use a light over the kitchen sink, the towels were not good. Other than that we do love the rustic cabin, the location is perfect, the views worth the trip. Overall we love this property.
This house is very comfortable for our family of 8 adults. The views of the lake and mountains are unbelievable.Truly a magical spot. The waterfront area needs a lot of improvement to make it safer and more usable. We managed ok as we don’t have young children in our party. Overall we had a great week and plan to come again.Thank you for sharing this special place!
The property was beautiful inside and out. Very nice place to stay for multiple people and many nights. The big window in the living room was a nice place for morning coffee as well as the porch, which had a great view. The only downfall, no lighting in the front once it was dark and there was no outside firepit. Other than those small items, it was a very nice place to stay. Will look to potentially come back in the future.
Tanya has been wonderful to deal with. This is our 2nd time at Sky Acres. The view from the porch is unmatched. The walk to the dock is long but the price you pay for the view. The cabin is very large with room to spread out and allow groups to go multiple things at once.
We will be back next year again!
BTW. The pike and bass fishing in Osetah and the waters around Sky Acres was amazing
