About this property
Scenic Cozy Solar-Powered Tiny Home High in the Rockies Near Vail Ski Resort
Beautiful solar powered tiny home located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. 25 minutes from Vail and Beaver Creek, 10 minutes from Ski Cooper, and just minutes from the Vail Pass Trail Head, Camp Hale, and countless other areas to explore from the property whether winter or summer. Despite being off grid, the solar electricity helps to provide all the amenities one needs like TV, internet , and hot water for a shower after a long day in the wild. Come experience Colorado the way it should be seen in all its natural beauty!
The space
This modern tiny home in the Rocky Mountains will give one a genuine Colorado experience in the comforts of a cozy and energy efficient space.
Guest access
This tiny home sits on 30 acres surrounded by the White River National Forest. There are two other homes on the property (The Lodge at Snow Cross Inn and Mt of the Holy Cross Tiny). That said, this tiny home is situated to where you don’t see any of those structures from the front facing views of the house, so it feels very private and one with nature, yet still has the comforts of civilization nearby.
Other things to note
- We love pets, and want to accommodate your furry friends. To help offset the added cleaning time pets require, there is an additional fee per booking which you can see under Additional Fees. Any guest who brings more guests or pets than noted in the booking will be charged double the extra guest or pet fee per night. Please just be honest up front!
- This tiny home has a composting toilet, the Separett Villa 9200. We encourage you to Google it for more information on how it works and reviews from users. I have used this in my personal home, and it is amazing how the toilet does not have any odor at all due to the clever waste system and built in fan directing any fumes outside 24/7. Waterless toilets by Separett are the leaders in environmental oriented alternatives to traditional toilet systems.

About the host
Hosted by Eileen
The Jacobs Family has lived in Colorado for more than 45 years, raising their children in the Vail Valley. We created the Snow Cross Inn and Tiny Homes in 2017, with the name inspired by the snow capped peak Mt. of the Holy Cross visible to the north. We enjoy sharing this unique Rocky Mountain experience with unparalled views in every direction with our guests who come from all over the world.
Why they chose this property
The area is located along a designated scenic byway with convenient access to Highway 24 and alpine skiing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking, rafting and the many events held in the nearby communities of Vail, Beaver Creek and Leadville.
What makes this property unique
Although the property is off grid, the massive solar panel grid provides plenty of power to make it feel like an on grid property while maintaining a low carbon footprint. Propane gas keeps everyone warm and cozy.
