Old St. Vincent's 303 — Sauna | 14ft Loft | Mtn Views | Walk Downtown
Summary:
Old St. Vincent's 303 is a top-floor loft in one of Leadville's historic landmark buildings — 14ft cathedral ceilings, exposed brick, a private infrared sauna, and 360° mountain views from three blocks off Main Street. Built for couples, solo travelers, and remote workers who want character over square footage.
Listed with @BookTraverse
✦ Private infrared sauna
✦ 14ft cathedral ceilings + exposed brick
✦ 360° mountain views from the 3rd floor
✦ 3 blocks to Harrison St (Main St) — walk everywhere
✦ Dedicated desk with monitor, keyboard, mouse
✦ Sleeps 4 — king bed + trundle (two twins)

The Space:
Old St. Vincent's 303 sits on the top floor of a 19th-century historic building three blocks off Harrison Street, Leadville's main drag. The unit was built into the original brickwork — 14ft cathedral ceilings, exposed brick walls, oversized windows pulling in light from every side, and the kind of architectural character you can't fake in new construction.

What's inside:
✦ Private infrared sauna — yours alone, not a shared building amenity
✦ 14ft cathedral ceilings + original exposed brick
✦ 360° mountain views from the 3rd floor — every window faces something worth looking at
✦ Full kitchen — oven, electric range, microwave, full-size refrigerator, water kettle, fully stocked for cooking real meals

✦ Smoke-free, historic building
➔ Sleeping arrangement (sleeps 4)
Bedroom: King bed
Living area: Trundle bed with two twin mattresses
➔ 3 Pros / 2 Cons (so you know what you're booking)
Pros:
- A truly distinctive space — most Leadville rentals are condos or cabins; this is a cathedral-ceiling loft inside a historic landmark
- The sauna and workspace combo make this work for restorative trips, remote-work weeks, and ski recovery — not just sightseeing
- Walking distance to every restaurant, bar, and shop on Harrison Street
Cons:
- Historic building, original windows — the unit gets cold on the coldest winter nights. Space heaters, baseboard, gas fireplace (with timer), and extra blankets are all here, but plan to dress warm and don't expect modern insulation.
- 3rd floor, no elevator — all access is via stairs. Plan accordingly if you have heavy gear, mobility limits, or small kids.
Guest Access:
Entire unit is yours — full private access to the space, the sauna, and the workspace. Self-check-in via lockbox; you'll receive a link to our digital guidebook with the code, parking instructions, and stair access details before arrival.
Two parking spots available per unit. No RVs, boats, or trailer campers in the lot.
Our local team is available throughout your stay if you need anything.
The Neighborhood:
Old St. Vincent's 303 is three blocks from Harrison Street — Leadville's historic Main Street and the heart of downtown. From the front door you can walk to every restaurant, brewery, coffee shop, and gallery in town. No driving needed for food, drinks, or basic supplies.
Leadville sits at 10,152 ft — the highest incorporated city in North America. The neighborhood is quiet, residential, and surrounded by 14,000 ft peaks on every horizon. From the 3rd floor windows of OSV 303 you get genuine 360° mountain views — Mt. Massive, Mt. Elbert, and the Mosquito Range are all visible without leaving the unit.
Within walking distance: Periodic Brewing, City on a Hill Coffee, Treeline Kitchen, Cookies with Altitude, the Tabor Opera House, the National Mining Museum, and the historic district. The Mineral Belt Trail (paved, 11.6-mile loop, hike/bike/ski) is a 5-minute walk.
A short drive opens up Ski Cooper (35 min), Copper Mountain (40 min), Twin Lakes (25 min), Independence Pass (closed in winter), Turquoise Lake (15 min), and the Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive trailheads.
Getting Around:
You'll need a car to reach Leadville — there's no reliable rideshare here, and public transit doesn't run from any major airport. Once you're in town, you can walk to everything downtown from OSV 303.
From Denver International (DEN): ~2hr 15min drive via I-70 W to Hwy 91 S over Fremont Pass (11,318 ft). 4WD or chains recommended Nov–Apr.
From Eagle County Regional (EGE): ~1hr 15min drive, lower mountain pass exposure than the Denver route.
From Aspen/Pitkin County (ASE): ~2hr in summer via Independence Pass (closed mid-Oct to late May), 2hr 30min in winter via the long way around.
Once here:
- Downtown Leadville: 3-block walk
- Trailheads, ski areas, lakes: 15–40 min drive
- Free street parking, plus 2 designated spots per unit in the building lot

Altitude: Leadville sits at 10,152 ft. Altitude sickness is real — symptoms include headache, dizziness, and nausea, usually in the first 24 hours. Hydrate aggressively, take it easy on day one, and consider travel insurance if you're prone to altitude effects. We can't refund stays due to altitude sickness.

Super cozy loft with a good vibe and fabulous views of the mountain peaks outside huge windows. An unexpected perk were coffee beans to fresh-grind for that first early morning cup. The host was great!

We had a great stay at this property in Leadville. The home was within easy walking distance (about 5-7 mins) of the town’s Main Street, filled with restaurants, shops, bars, and other attractions. We had gorgeous weather and took full advantage of the property’s large windows.

Have stayed in some “rustic” places in Leadville but this was an excellent apartment in a beautiful historic building in the old hospital.

Hi Mark and Eileen, thankyou for your time to leave a review. We're glad that you liked the place and enjoyed your stay.
I love how the apartment was decorated. It was beautiful and well equipped. My only complaints would be it was drafty which made it cold and I couldn’t connect to the Wi-Fi which the property manager helped navigate.

We had a wonderful stay in this cute Leadville apartment! It was very clean and had everything we needed. The historic property has been very well maintained. Just be aware the entrance to the third floor is accessible via the outdoor fire escape (very well constructed and sturdy). I only mention that because my husband is afraid of heights, so he didn't love that, but he got used to it and really enjoyed the place as well!

Hi April, thank you for your time to leave a review. We're looking forward to hosting you gain in the future.
This was a terrific place to stay. The condo was spacious and kitchen well-stocked. We did have a little trouble figuring out the lockbox/key/door code on the way in and it would have been very difficult in the dark. We really appreciated the extra batteries on-hand when the tv remote needed them, as well as a yoga mat! Quality bedding and towels are another nice touch—I always notice. Thank you!

Overall the stay was good. The lock box out front is difficult to open. Only thing I did not like is there is no extra lock inside the apartment once inside. The only lock is the coded door lock. Staying alone with my 2 kids, it had me feeling very uncomfortable when sleeping at night since all it takes is a code to open the door. There should be another inside only lock.

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad your overall stay was good, but we sincerely apologize for the discomfort you felt. Your suggestion for an additional inside lock is important, and we’ll work on making that improvement to ensure future guests feel more secure. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
The property was amazing! It is very well decorated; clean; communication from the owner exceptional. I did not notice when booking the property, but it has a sauna and other amenities which are very nice. The only comment for improvement is the wall fireplace does not seem to work and I had trouble finding the keylock to the place given I arrived in the dark. It is located on the 1st floor railing not on the 3rd floor. One does need to access the place via the outside stairs but they are safe. I would stay here again definitely!

A cozy condo in a historic building. Easy to walk to downtown Leadville. The condo had everything we needed. Be warned that there is no elevator and access is up some outside steps.
