To clarify, this is an apartment — not a standalone house — which comes with shared walls, ceilings, and floors. With that comes the expectation of respecting neighbors, especially during quiet hours (10pm–8am). The 10pm–8am quiet hours are not arbitrary; they’re in place out of respect for neighbors who live and work in the building full-time. Most guests understand this and have had no issues — This isn’t an unusual or unfair rule, but a standard part of apartment living. Out of over 80 previous stays — many with children — yours was the first to raise an issue with this. Regarding the “no shoes” policy, it only applies to the bedroom — the only carpeted area in the unit. The rest of the apartment is hardwood, and we simply ask guests not to wear or store shoes in that one room to keep it clean for everyone. It’s a small request and a common courtesy in many homes and vacation rentals. As for the bed, I apologize for the discomfort. Feedback has been mixed — some guests love it, others don’t — which I believe comes down to personal firmness preference. While I respect your opinion, many families have stayed comfortably here without issue.
