We loved our stay at The Platform 1346! It was the perfect place to come back to after exploring the area and riding the Tail of the Dragon. We also spent some time at Cades Cove, and having such a beautiful and comfortable place to relax afterward made the trip even better. The property was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially loved the peaceful surroundings and the opportunity to slow down and enjoy the beauty of the area.It was the perfect home base for our getaway, and we made some wonderful memories here. We would absolutely stay at The Platform 1346 again and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay in the area!

We loved our stay in this beautifully restored World War II train car in Maryville. The garden farm setting was so peaceful and beautiful, and the whole place felt really special. Our hosts were great, and our 3-year-old had the best time exploring. Such a fun and unique getaway!

Nice property...the host was very friendly. Kitchen well stocked. Plenty of bedding and extra blankets. It is small.. great for a couple and maybe one small child. Unique for sure.

Wish we could've stayed here longer! This place was oh so neat! Very peaceful too! It has everything you need to stay for a few days! Very well supplied! Dean was great at communication. We had a little trouble finding it because we were coming in after dark. But, he was quick to help us figure out which turn to take. We look forward to staying again! Thank you! :)

The caboose was very clean and well equipped for our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet serenity of the farm. The uniqueness of your caboose was very helpful as begin thinking how we can renovate ours.

Traincar

It was perfect for what we had planned for the trip. The bonus was the 4 legged greeters.

If you are even remotely thinking of staying at this property, DO IT! We were intrigued by the idea of staying in an old railway car, but the experience far exceeded our expectations. The grounds around the rail-car were spectacular. Gardens, flowers, fish-pond, and an exceptional fire-pit. We were in town for a show at a local music/food venue called The Shed, but were also able to fit in a few hikes at nearby Cades Cove. An all round spectacular weekend. The hosts were communcative when needed, but other-wise let us enjoy our stay in complete privacy. A 5 Star experience in every way.

My kids LOVED getting to sleep on a train! It really feels so much bigger inside than it looks outside. It has a full kitchen! The directions were clear. The property was beautiful, and most importantly, it was CLEAN! I am hard to please in the cleanliness area. The hosts were also great! They answered all of our questions and even mailed us a shirt my husband left behind. A few things I will note:1) there are a LOT of uncovered windows because it’s a train. If you have issues sleeping with light, you may need to bring suction cup blackout shades like I did. Just be prepared ahead of time, and you’ll be fine. 2) the bathtub is VERY slippery because the shower curtain is too long, so you’re standing on it, and it’s plastic. A shorter curtain is probably needed, but just be very careful. 3) there is a step down from the hallway to the bedroom. It is marked, but when it’s dark at night, you have to remember it’s there, or you could get hurt. 4) the sleeper sofa is LOUD if you move at all, so put your stillest sleeper on that one. 5) the mattress on the main bed is also pretty loud and was a little too hard for my personal taste, but I know some people love that, and you can’t please everyone! 6) I believe there is a farm next door, and there were some weird sounds coming from over there (pretty sure it was an animal or maybe machine), but it stopped before nightfall, so it was all good. We will definitely stay again if we are ever over that way!

Just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay at Platform 1346. Communication with the hosts was great before, during and after my visit. The train car is tastefully equipped, yet has cool nods to it's history. The property is quiet and absolutely beautiful, but my very favorite bonus was being visited by the crew of adorable pups. The dogs only come over if you call out to them and when they arrive, they are sweet and well-mannered. Nothing like having your morning coffee on the deck with gorgeous flowers, birds chirping, tranquility and some sweet doggo hosts at your feet. Blissful
