If you want a quiet, delightful, and perfect place to stay, the Bunkhouse is it. First, it is impeccable in terms of cleanliness and is very spacious for a couple. The hosts, Rick and Mary, are also a delight and communication with them was outstanding. The entire farm is beautiful and provides a great setting to detach from the concrete and steel of a city. The Bunkhouse has everything you need including full kitchen and laundry. I can't thank Rick and Mary enough!

They are very gracious and go beyond. They are extremely thoughtful by having food for their guest so they don't need to leave right away when they arrive. The place is beautiful and well maintained. Highly recommend it as a perfect get away.

This was a great place to stay and relax. Quiet, clean all of the modern touches you could ask for. Rick and Mary even provided a frozen pizza for dinner and breakfast sandwiches. The area is quite isolated, and groceries are a bit of a drive, so this helped so much. Everything was clean and new. All of the comforts of home were provided, including washer and dryer. There were chickens on the property that afforded a few laughs with their antics. I didn't partake in the fire pit, but everything was there to enjoy a beautiful evening outside with a fire. I'd stay here again if I find myself in the area.

Cheri, thank you for your kind words and 5 star review! It's very important to Rick and I that our guests feel at home in the Bunkhouse. We are happy that you were able to relax and enjoy the property, with some added entertainment provided by our chickens. We would love to host you again. Mary

I came for a stay here in Dendron and absolutely loved this sweet quiet space! Really felt secluded while still close enough to the places I needed to be. Such a difference from my home in Colorado. I loved the cute chickens, the sweet sound of crickets, and the stocked bon fire pit. I would definitely stay again. Thank you for the care you put into your comfy bunkhouse.

After living in several different states over the course of many years, we have called this part of the Commonwealth of Virginia home since 2014. The slogan, "Virginia is for Lovers" couldn't be more accurate, as Virginians are the loveliest people! Central Virginia offers a great mix of convenience and charm, and we wanted to extend this same experience to visitors from all over.

Why they chose this property

The view from the kitchen window will look different depending on the time of year. You may see bales of hay rolled up all along the field, wildflowers popping with color, buckwheat attracting all types of pollinators, a pumpkin patch, free-range chickens, and our apiary active with production. However, no matter the time of year, you will have the serene picture of a farming community.

What makes this property unique

Ours is a unique property that offers a one of a kind experience. It's a working hay farm and apiary. We are located in a peaceful farming community, within a short drive to all modern conveniences and historical attractions.
