About this property

Waterfront, dock, easy ocean access, heated pool, walk to beach! Great location!

One room with a king sized bed and the other has a queen sized bed – both with cool comfort memory foam mattresses. Pull-out queen sized sofa and twin love seats add additional sleeping options. Bathrooms lined in elegant tile with glass block showers. The well-stocked chef’s kitchen has all stainless appliances (including fridge with ice maker) with an eat-in breakfast bar and everything you need, from toaster oven to blender, to feel at home. The skylight adds openness and light to the entire space. The screened-in patio with fan has a dining table for 6 and leads directly to the tropical and private waterfront back yard and your own heated pool! Outdoor shower is great for quick cool off or rinsing gear and toys. Fish off the private dock, keep bait or fish in the outdoor freezer, grill your fish (and anything else) on the Weber grill, and bring or rent a boat, as there is ample dock space and a community boat ramp at the end of the street. Separate laundry room with full-size high efficiency washer and dryer. It is one half of a duplex (in a previous life these were a botel - boat up motel), but it is more like a single-family home, as the only thing shared is a wall - you have a private driveway, private pool, and it is all very private, with the backyard fully fenced.

Just 4 houses away from complete open water ocean access – paddle board, kayak and more! House is walking distance to groceries, pharmacy, stores, movie theater and other shops and restaurants, yet nestled in a quiet neighborhood – AND less than a mile to the Sombrero Beach (a rarity in the Keys!), the best beach and park in the area! The park is just beautiful – white sand blue water beach, covered pavilion, bathrooms and showers, playground, sand volleyball courts and individual gazebos with seating and BBQ grills. Park and beach are pet friendly. Kayak trips run daily from the park and there is outdoor yoga multiple times weekly too. House is equipped with 4 bikes, including locks, lights and helmets; a tandem kayak; fishing gear; beach/pool toys and more. Rentals of various other items are nearby and many deliver. Plus, you're only about an hour to Key West and all it has to do, and just 45 minutes from all the fun in Islamorada!

Please note that boats (personal or rental) are welcome, with prior approval and a $100 dockage fee. Please inquire at time of booking if you plan to bring or rent a boat.

Check-in was easy with great communication from the host throughout the stay, when needs arose. The heated pool was great for our January trip. The location is great for an early morning walk to Sombrero Beach. Location is also great for close access to grocery stores and restaurants. Ours was a party of 2 and we would happily look to return in the future.

We loved our stay in Marathon. This rental is well stocked and the outdoor areas are lovely. Loved the pool and dock and bikes. Perfect location near the beautiful Sombrero Beach and about an hour to Key West. Pet friendly, too.

Beautiful Views and Great Spaces

We loved the water views, with some gorgeous moon-rises to boot. This home efficiently packs several highly functional spaces including open kitchen/family room, screened lanai, pool deck & pool plus dock. You can find sun or shade all day. Extremely convenient to shopping, nice bike/walking path - about a mile to Sombrero Beach. The owner and property manager were immediately responsive to us when we had questions and needed some assistance and were able to work with us as we needed Sunday-Sunday, and were able to add an 8th night when it was available.

Good location to amenities. We took the boat out mostly but enjoyed the refreshing pool after coming in from a hot day. House was stocked with everything we needed. We had a great time and much needed vacation. The owner and property manager were always communicative.

Great location, good parking, loved having the washer/dryer. We travelled with 2 small dogs and walked them across Man-O-War drive and along Sombrero Beach road since there is no grass on the property. We loved the screened in area but be careful - you can see shadows/movement in the bedroom from the porch. House was very clean, beds were comfortable, and we had everything we needed for a week in the Keys. Great stay!

This house was good. Great location. Pool was nice. Parking was good for one truck and trailer. The screened in porch was nice. The A.c. units need to be serviced. The one in the livingroom we couldn't run half the time we were there because it leaked water everywhere. Everything else was good.

Great Location

This property has a great location on Marathon very central and easy to get to everything. Boat dock right out the back door gives easy to access. Dock has a ladder which makes getting in and out of a boat during low tide simple. Loved the large screened-in-porch. Beware.... When boating and leaving the canal turn hard left and follow the shore line going toward the mangroves. When almost to the mangroves turn hard right once you are lined up with the red buoy channel markers. Go between the red buoys and between the red and green marker posts. You will get stuck if you do not exactly follow this channel. Very unusual channel, but it works fine even in low tide as long as you follow it properly. AC in one bedroom needs service. We had a great time.

Location was great! Very close to Ocean access. The access is a bit skinny so you need to be careful going out and coming in. The pool was very refreshing! Our only complaint was this was a duplex and not a single family home, which should of been in the listing. They were doing improvements on the other side of the duplex so starting at 9 am, you would hear banging from hammers throughout the day from the other side. Kitchen was well stocked and had everything needed. Kayak and bus keys were a plus as well! Overall great place!

Location was convenient to everything we needed and the pool was a nice little bonus for the kids to play in when we weren’t out on the water. We really enjoyed our accommodations at Marathon. The place was super clean - and we had everything we needed plus more. The pool was wonderful - and small enough to heat quickly. The neighborhood was quiet and the beach and grocery are both within walking / biking distance. It was great to have the bikes for our use! I thought I would be able to kayak the canal a bit - but realized once we arrived that you cannot kayak under the causeway - so kayaking was limited to a very short canal and open water. We loved our visit and highly recommend this home to future guests!

Fantastic Winter Getaway!

The property was very nice we were pleased with the accommodations. Very convenient location to the beach, restaurants and walking path. We enjoyed using the pool and being right on the water. The lanai is very big and its nice to sit outside to eat, play cards, relax out of the sun. We would definitely return to this property.

Best vacation ever

We arrived at 3:30 and Katie gave us the the codes to go ahead and check in so we could get our vacation started. The house is super with great a/c it’s was very clean as well. The dock is great too fish cleaning station came in very handy. I have been to marathon 7 times now and this was by far the best experience yet great place and nice people.

Why they chose this property

After coming to the Keys regularly for years, we finally decided it just made sense to own something there. And once we saw this place, we knew it was the one. There is just no place connected to the mainland U.S. like the Keys - you have to experience it yourself to understand.

What makes this property unique

This home just had the perfect mix of everything - superb location (close to the beach, close to shopping and other amenities), incredible views and incredible attention to every little detail. We love to share our little slice of paradise with others when we're not there.
