Fall Foliage: Popular areas for leaf peeping include Mad River Valley (15 mins) and Stowe (10 mins), but the entire state is drenched in autumn colors during this period. Mountain Biking: The home sits directly on the Perry Hill mountain biking trail, quickly becoming famous for its screaming downhills and challenging inclines.
Waterbury Reservoir: Less than 5 minutes from the Waterbury Reservoir located within the Mount Mansfield State Forest, the reservoir offers boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and picnicking. The reservoir's deep, clear waters reach a maximum depth of 100 ft and provide habitat for various fish and bird species.
Winooski River: The Winooski River is less than 5 minutes from the home and is a great place for fishing, rafting, tubing and kayaking. The river includes a variety of fish species including trout and bass and offers designated access areas for anglers. Sections of the river are suitable for whitewater rafting and kayaking, while other parts are better for leisurely floats or tubing.
Dinning & Shopping: Waterbury is known as a foodie destination with eclectic local shops and farm-to-table restaurants emphasizing local ingredients. Waterbury, and the nearby town of Stowe, offer walkable village centers where guests can find a variety of establishments celebrating the local flavor.
Golf: Sugarbush Resort Golf Club (25 mins) is open to the public and courses provide the opportunity to play without the requirement of a paid membership. If guests are members of the Country Club of Vermont, it is just 5 mins from the home.
Breweries: In the heart of Vermont, guests will be within a short drive to a number of excellent and well known breweries. Kid friendly and typically with large indoor and outdoor spaces, these establishments often have food, live music and other events to keep all guests entertained for hours.
Montpelier & Burlington: The home is situated an easy 20-30 minute drive from both of these metro areas. Montpelier is the smaller of the two, retaining much of the local Vermont charm that is evident in the smaller towns found throughout the state. While Burlington is a bigger city on the shores of Lake Champlain.
