THE CABIN AND THE LANDSCAPE
Welcome to Summit Retreat, a peaceful and well-loved home perched above the valley, with open views stretching to the Seven Sisters range and Skinner House on Mount Holyoke. This is a place to slow down, breathe deeply, and watch hawks drift overhead at noon while thrushes sing at dusk. The land is alive with herbs, vegetables, flowers, and healthy trees, all lovingly tended. A flat lawn invites play or rest, with a shady hammock ready for a nap. Expect visits from deer, rabbits, heron, and even the occasional bear, while the sky shifts from misty mountain mornings to brilliant blue afternoons.
Once a Conservation Corps cabin, the home has been reimagined by a well-traveled anthropologist who crafted each space with meaning and care. The result is both poetic and practical—a place for conversation, retreat, and inspiration.
KITCHEN
Thoughtfully updated with locally made Boxco cabinets and brand-new appliances, the kitchen blends original details with modern functionality. Fully equipped for real cooking.
DINING ROOM
Passive solar design keeps the space comfortable year-round. The dining area is simple, sunny, and grounded by views.
LIVING ROOM
Spacious and sunlit with plenty of room to sprawl, read, stream a movie, enjoy a cocktail, or supervise tummy time.
FAMILY OFFICE + KID ZONE
Located on the way to the meadow bedroom, this flexible space includes a desk and reading area alongside a kid-friendly zone with a tummy time mat, crib, baby bathtub, high chair, and toys for all ages.
YOGA ROOM
A serene room for movement, stillness, or meditation.
MEADOW BEDROOM
Bright, airy, and restful with views and soft light.
WOODS BEDROOM + SECOND OFFICE
Cozy and grounding, surrounded by trees. This room includes a second workspace for remote work or quiet reflection.
MAIN BATHROOM
A large, light-filled space with a deep soaking tub and a glorious valley view—a rare and peaceful luxury.
SECOND BATHROOM
Smaller but equally inviting, with a warm, high-pressure shower and thoughtful amenities to support comfort and ease.
PATIO
Step outside onto the stone patio to enjoy your morning coffee, a good book, or dinner al fresco. Surrounded by tall grasses and birdsong, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and take in the hilltop breeze.
Summit Retreat is both wild and refined—a home in harmony with the land, designed to welcome, comfort, and inspire.
