About this property
Secluded mountain cabin 5 acres , all rooms with view, hear soothing waterfall
This smoke-free and pet-free log cabin at 4000 feet elevation provides privacy and beautiful views from every room, but is also minutes to entertainment, restaurants, and shopping. 3 bedrooms plus a loft offer a king-size bed , 2 queen size beds and a twin bunkbed. Amenities include hot tub in the master bath, unlimited free wireless internet access with unlimited streaming capability, full kitchen with microwave and coffeemaker and dishwasher, washer and dryer, 2 outdoor decks( one screened in with picnic area , one open with gas firepit), and 2 stone indoor gas fireplaces with remote controls. This cabin sits on 5 acres. Enjoy a leisurely time listening to the waterfall in the distance as you sit around the firepit and watch a magnificent mountain sunset.
It is a steep, winding 1.5 mile paved road from the main road in Maggie Valley (Soco Road, or Highway 19) to Woodpecker Rd. Woodpecker is a short (about 150 yards or so) gravel road that leads to our cabin, and one other home. The cabin’s driveway is about 100 yards down Woodpecker Rd. (which we’ll say is semi-steep), with a 180 degree switchback from Woodpecker that cannot be made with a single turn. For safety concerns and to prevent damage to the gravel road and driveway, we would ask that you do not bring trailers of any kind. There is just not enough room to safely maneuver a trailer on our property. The driveway is also very narrow for a short section just after the switchback (and boarders the mountain’s edge). Therefore, it’s recommended that one drives past the driveway entrance and then backs up the driveway to the cabin (as opposed to attempting a multi-point turn in), For exiting, it’s also recommended to drive down the driveway onto Woodpecker, then back all the way up Woodpecker to Upper Summit Rd. (the paved road). For sedan-size cars, a 3-point turn can also be done to exit the driveway onto Woodpecker Road. If steep winding roads, backing up, or navigating a narrow section of driveway that borders the mountain’s edge would bother you, then this cabin would not be for you! Also, be advised that Upper Summit Rd becomes impassible with ice and/or snow, so attempting to access the cabin during these conditions is not possible even with 4 wheel drive. Refunds will be given up to midnight the day before stay in case of inclement weather that creates dangerous conditions on the mountain.
Sorry, non-smoking renters/guests only and no pets allowed. There is no inside or outside smoking permitted.
This rustic cabin is decorated with the local farm culture history of the NC mountain area in mind. No Southwestern decor style here! If you love the rustic farmhouse look, you will love the farm theme of this cabin. See the unique old farm equipment displayed and rustic quilts that take you back to another era, but also enjoy all the modern conveniences in this newly constructed cabin.
Two and 1/2 levels (ground level, downstairs, and loft), connected via a spiral staircase include three bedrooms, two and 1/2 baths. King bed in master suite on ground level - Queen bed in loft - Queen bed in downstairs bedroom #1 - Bunk beds in downstairs bedroom #2. Sleeps 8 in total.
The loft has a privacy screen changing area and an armoire for your clothing storage.
Two person whirlpool tub, and large walk-in shower in master bath.
Two ventless gas fireplaces (main level and downstairs dens)
Multi-function game tables located both downstairs (Foosball, air hockey, miniature pool & table tennis) and in loft (bumper pool, poker/card table, or solid surface board game table).
Plenty of old-fashioned table games to play as a family, but you also will have 4 TVs with streaming Netflix and other streaming channels available, as well as unlimited internet access if you want to stay connected to the outside world. There is even a telescope in the loft (with instructions) if you want to gaze at the moon up close through the huge picture windows in the loft.
The cabin is located minutes from the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds, the Wheels Through Time museum, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Other nearby attractions include Cataloochee Valley, and historic downtown Waynesville. In winter, the Cataloochee Ski Area and Tube World offer skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing to the winter sports enthusiast. The Cherokee Casino is located about 20 minutes away.
Neaby shopping includes several chain grocery stores, local gift shops, and ice cream shops, with restaurants featuring fine and casual dining options.
Please note that we operate this rental as a vacation rental under the NC Vacation Rental Act and therefore we do not accept reservations that exceed 89 nights.
