Our cottage was properly clean when we got there. Though make sure you bring extra dishes and silverware if you have more than 4 people. When we went to bed we noticed the bedspread was dirty. After 2 days the toilet, shower and laundry room drain backed up from the sewer. The bedroom connected to the laundry room was flooded. That room had no dresser, the only place to put your luggage/duffle bag is on the floor. Our duffle bag, shoes, clothes and purse were wet from sewage water! The man they sent to repair the blockage told us to use a hose and just hose our stuff and it will be fine!! He then said they found a bathroom wipe in the sewer and that was the problem. We did not have or use wipes as we told him! They said they would clean and sanitize with some bleach and we can go back in. We did refuse since we already packed and moved. The only thing we asked for was some compensation since clothes, shoes, duffle bag and purse were not fit for use! The property mgr kept insisting we used wipes, again we did not!No compensation given! If you go there don't use wipes! By the way no where in the house or on website do they say that wipes should not be used!Again, the property mgr insists we used wipes when we never even brought them. Plenty other places to rent in Geneva, I would not recommend these cottages.

Thank you for your feedback. If you remember, I showed you the property before your arrival, when you were there, unannounced 2 months prior. You stated you were all coffee drinkers, so I made sure you had a new bigger coffee maker. You liked the cabin and were excited to stay.
You are correct that after two days, the drain was plugged and needed snaked. There was not a problem before that time. It is commonly known, among adults, not to flush wipes down a toilet, but I appreciate you asking us to put that in our house rules.
You were given new accommodations immediately, and asked for complete refund (3 nights) for a nylon dufflebag and clothes that were on the floor. Which, the owner believed to be excessive. There are 2 dressers in the room. One tall 5 drawer, and one wide with a mirror 6 drawer, along with a closet, all of which provide ample space for personal belongings. These can be seen in the pictures.
I encourage people to read the other reviews of our cabin and come to enjoy a stay close to wineries, GOTL and historic Ashtabula harbor.
