We were a retired sibling group of eight. We chose this house and cabins for its idyllic setting and it was a wonderful place to relax after a busy schedule. The cabins were much nicer than I expected. They are close to the house and have plenty of outlets. They could have used blackout curtains as our stay was in June. The master bedroom was great. I would say the 2 upstairs bedrooms are more suitable for kids. They really feel like being in a somewhat unfinished attic. A roof window would be a nice addition if the owners want to upgrade at some point. The smaller room is very cramped and the sloped ceiling makes it impossible to even sit upright on the wall side. I still recommend this place. Just don’t assign that little room to a discerning person. The grounds and deck are delightful. The sound of the river (I would call it a brook) is very soothing. We loved. the living space and kitchen. The combined washer/dryer was welcome, but it takes almost 3 hours to complete a load. Still happy to have had it.We would definitely rent this place again if we were to return to Iceland.
