Nordic inspired lodging for outdoor enthusiasts in the heart of the San Juan mountains.
Rico River Ranch is located on the pristine Dolores river, only 30 miles South of world renowned Telluride, Colorado. The stunning 20 acre property is surrounded by National Forest and grants guests access to nearly a mile of private river frontage.
Guests will have access to a sauna, firepit, wifi, hot shower, unique accommodations, indoor and outdoor cooking options and serenity on the river.
Rico River Ranch is set up for groups to enjoy nature with everyday comforts. There unique lodging options for up to 10 guests. You get the WHOLE property to yourselves!
There are two 900sq foot giant luxury lavuu tents (tipis).
There are two refurbished antique sheepwagon camp.
The Rico grande caboose.
There is a fishing cabin with a toilet, sink and shower. There are two extra large hot water heaters to fill your hot shower needs. There is a charging station, coffee station and washer and dryer. Guests will have access to the bathroom and middle room for trash and recycling storage and a large refrigerator and freezer.
Relax in the large wood fired sauna on the river edge after hiking or biking local trails.
Cook a hearty dinner in our Finnish Grillikota (a wood fired indoor cooking yurt) with 10 guests, fry up some steaks on our large Santa Maria style outdoor grill or use our extra large propane grill.
There is a large firepit with 8 seats and another 3 seats at a table with an umbrella for sun coverage.
Other things to note
We are experienced and licensed mushroom foragers and lead forays in the Summer. (weather depending) Guests who book lodging with us will get a hefty discount.
Our forays cover medicinal and edible wild plants and mushrooms. We guide a 4-6 hour hike, include professional photos of the adventure, give guests freeze dried mushrooms to take home and teach our guests how to cook and preserve their finds. if you're looking for a unique outdoor experience - we would love to teach you about wild foods!
