Fantastic place. Lots of room. Nice vibe inside and out. Foodland just a few minutes walk which made it easy to grab all we needed for the weekend after arrival. Downtown Southampton and the beach a quick 15-20 minute walk. Made for a great place to stay with kids and partners for a weekend wedding we were all attending.
Southampton has a special place in my heart and this beautiful home showed my friends just why. We had the most incredible time and Ruth and Amanda made sure our stay was perfect. From the home itself to the yummy treats left for us. Highly recommend staying here in one of Ontario’s most beautiful areas

Hi Kelly,
So pleased to know that you were able to "sell" your friends on why Southampton is so very special to you. My sentiments exactly...and the cottage just fits into the scenario so well.
Thrilled that we could share with you what the cottage is to us...a retreat, with such easy access to all things Southampton.
Look forward to the opportunity to hosting you again in the future.

Very nice log house in a nice quiet location in town. You can walk to the beach, downtown & shop for groceries. The host has went above & beyond to make sure you have everything you need for a great stay. The kids really had such a good time in the pool. The huge logs in the structure of the house made it so Canadian for my Australian family.

Hi Thomas,
So grateful that you and your family had a good time at the cottage last week...AND that the weather cooperated for you as well.
Appreciate you sharing your good experiences here. And would love to have you back. Ruth
P.S. Soooo glad I opted to keep the pool :)
Wow!!! What a standout VRBO! We had the best stay. Ruth is the kindest host and has gone above and beyond with every little thing she provides for guests. The property was absolutely dreamy and the location was perfect. We loved all the nearby beaches and took a day trip to Tobermory, which was an easy drive. Everything was comfortable and beautiful. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare food for all nine of us. The kids had the best time in spacious yard and heated pool! It was one of our favorite places our family has ever stayed!
We had an amazing stay from start to finish! Ruth has been the most incredible host we have had to date. She was extremely responsive, thorough, kind, helpful, and accommodating. The cottage is on a beautiful property with a huge back yard, deck and swimming pool, and large area for a campfire which fit our entire group! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook every meal! The cottage was cozy, clean, and has a peaceful front porch where we enjoyed our tea and coffee. I would absolutely recommend staying here! Our group cannot wait to return for our next adventure! Thank you Ruth for your wonderful hospitality and for sharing your cottage with us!

Hi Shaylyn,
You can't know how pleased I am to know that you had a good experience at our precious Canadian Peaks. (Coffee/tea on front porch one of my favorite things as well.)
This is our first season on VRBO, and look forward to working hard to continue to offer the best experience possible. LOVE the possibility of having you return.
Appreciate you.
Ruth
This was a lovely spot to stay! We originally booked as a place to stay while traveling for our 10 year old daughters softball tournament. Unfortunately, the tournament was cancelled but this lovely spot allowed us to still have a wonderful family vacation. Sauble beach was a short drive, the food truck (Lisa's sunset grill) had amazing food and we had everything we needed (and more)! Ruth had amazing communication - which we were grateful for as this was our first time booking anything other than a traditional hotel/motel. The pool was perfect for our young kids to swim around in for hours and tons of games to keep the entire family occupied during the days with air quality warnings outside. The lighthouse restaurant was a great last stop on our visit (brunch and lunch food was amazing). Thank you Ruth for sharing your place with us! Our kids have decided that this is the only place they want to stay whenever we are back for more tournaments.

Hi there
Can’t know how happy it makes me to hear that you , in spite of not having the tournament, that you were able to enjoy a vacation and that our cottage served you well for that. Look forward to having you back .
The house was clean and very spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The living area and bedrooms were kept surprisingly warm by the gas stove even though the outside temperatures were below -20 C during our stay. The kitchen was well appointed and clean. The town of South Hampton is a short drive across the bridge with a large grocery store short walk from the house.Ruth was very responsive to all our queries. We had a wonderful and restful stay.

P.S. And thank YOU for leaving it in such great shape as well :)
This house is very spacious with lots of room for family to roam. The basement or lower level is will equate with a large sofa and TV. Also a bedroom. And the washing machine and dryer which we did use for the baby stuff is on the lower level. The main level is open concept with TV and to sofas one of which is a sofa bed dining table and well-equipped kitchen. It's nice to have such a modern kitchen. The upper level has three bedrooms. Very comfortable mattresses and lots of space. Outside there is a small pool which is enough for a family to use. There is a large backyard and I mean really big with a swing set and a fire pit. The kids could play a decent soccer game in the back. I would love to come back. The house is steps away from a grocery store. You could walk you don't have to drive. It's located close to the major highway that goes through Southampton. Very easy to find the house. I would highly recommend this place.

Hi Sandra,
So pleased that you were well pleased with your stay at our "Canadian Peaks". Thank you for sharing such.
Will look forward to the time when you're able to return.

We weren’t looking for a cottage with a pool, but we made great use of it as the lake was a little too chilly for swimming. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the cottage worked very well for our family of five. Being so close to the river was great. We kayaked the Saugeen and the Sauble. We also loved how close the cottage is to both the downtown area and the lake. We took a number of walks to both. Highly recommend!
