About this property
Cayuga Dacha...Lakefront retreat in the beautiful Finger Lakes
Welcome to our happy place. Cayuga Dacha is situated at the north end of stunning Cayuga lake on a large grassy yard with 100 feet of private lakefront. Whether you have a few days or a few weeks, this is the perfect place to call home while you explore the boundless opportunities for fun in the Finger Lakes. Both Cayuga and Seneca Lake wine trails are easily accessible, Ithaca and its gorges are a direct shot south on the historic Cayuga Lake Scenic Byway, and Montezuma Wildlife refuge is only 5 minutes away. There are grocery stores 10 minutes away in Seneca Falls, or in 20 minutes you can be perusing the local flavors at Wegman's in either Geneva or Auburn. There is a golf course 5 minutes away, many antique shops, two great breweries and multiple wineries within 15 minutes. For boaters, there are 7 wineries and several restaurants on Cayuga Lake accessible by boat. If you don't have your own boat, you can rent a charter that will take you out on the lake for the day and stop in at the wineries for tastings and lunch. There is almost no better way to spend your day than combining the wide open waters of Cayuga Lake with the unique vintages that are so lovingly produced on its shores.
Our home has 2 bedrooms (one with a queen bed and the other with a king and single bed) and 1 and 1/2 bathrooms. There is a comfortable sleeper sofa in the living room. We have a fully-stocked kitchen with all of the equipment you could need to make delicious meals. There is a washer and dryer as well as a dishwasher. We also provide linens.
The house also features WI-FI, a flat screen TV with Hulu, Netflix and Android TV box for streaming, Klipsch sound system that can be paired via bluetooth, a PS3 with a variety of games, a gas grill, two kayaks and life vests for your use, air-conditioners in both bedrooms and the kitchen, beach towels and adirondack chairs down by the lake. There is a deck with table, chairs and umbrella which is a perfect place to have your morning coffee while you gaze out onto the lake and watch the ducks, geese and herons that frequent this part of the lake.
For boaters, there are two marinas within walking distance of the property and a public boat launch less than 10 minutes away. This end of the lake connects to the Erie Canal through Mud Lock and to Seneca Lake via the Cayuga-Seneca Canal. Not only does this mean we get to watch tons of amazing boats floating by, but also if you are a boating enthusiast yourself you can spend a relaxing day sailing down the canal and end up in historic Seneca Falls just in time for lunch! Kayaking through the canal is also a great experience
We have been coming to the Finger Lakes for years and we know it can be daunting to decide how to make the most of your valuable vacation time. With all of the activities the area has to offer including wine and beer (and cider! and cheese!) tastings, boating, fishing, hiking the many trails, and exploring the regions historical and cultural attractions, one might have trouble deciding what to do! Luckily, at Cayuga Dacha, we have all of the information you need to plan your days. We have provided a detailed and up-to-date guide including tips, suggestions, itineraries, and local information that will put the charms of the Finger Lakes literally at your finger tips.
If you're like us and you believe that everything is truly better by the water, come see just how good life can be.
