Enjoyed our stay. Clean, water views in the front and deer in the backyard. Great huge porch to enjoy, but too cold during our visit.Would stay again. 10-12 minute ride to West Jefferson shops and restaurants.

We live a couple of hours away in Charlotte. We’re a family who loves spending time outdoors, especially in the mountains. This area has always been a special place for us, so we wanted to create a getaway that feels warm and welcoming for anyone who visits. Our hope is that when you stay here, you’ll feel right at home and leave with the same great memories we’ve made with our family.”

Why they chose this property

We chose Crumpler because it offers the perfect balance of peaceful seclusion and convenient access to nearby mountain towns. Nestled along the New River, the area is quiet and relaxing, yet just a short drive from places like Lansing and West Jefferson, where you’ll find charming shops, restaurants, and local culture.
There’s no shortage of things to do here all year round. In the warmer months, the river is perfect for tubing, kayaking, fishing, and swimming, while the surrounding mountains offer endless hiking trails and scenic views. In the winter, Crumpler comes alive as part of the Christmas Capital of the High Country, making it a festive and magical place to visit during the holidays.

What makes this property unique

Private River Access – 140 feet of direct New River frontage right in your backyard, perfect for tubing, fishing, or just relaxing by the water.

Two Fire Pit Options – one near the river and one by the house, so guests can enjoy evenings under the stars wherever they prefer.

Spacious Outdoor Living – a large grassy yard for games and gatherings, plus a big deck with a grill and a screened porch with cozy seating.

Family-Friendly Setup – two bedrooms (king and queen) plus an extra daybed and couch space, making it comfortable for up to 6 guests.

Year-Round Appeal – summer river fun, fall foliage hikes, and winter festivities with Crumpler’s “Christmas Capital” charm.

Secluded but Convenient – quiet setting on the river yet just minutes from Lansing and West Jefferson for dining, shopping, and exploring.
