The location is excellent, and the neighborhood felt safe and convenient. However, there were several issues that made the stay disappointing.To be clear, because the listing description is not: this is a small attic-style apartment within an older home, with the downstairs occupied by a resident. The driveway is shared as well. Privacy was a major concern. At the bottom of the steep stairs is a flimsy closet-style door separating the apartment from the rest of the house. It has a handle lock, but it cannot be locked while you are away, so the apartment did not feel private or secure.The bathroom sink was completely clogged and unusable, and no washcloths were provided. The kitchen towel hanging on the oven had a noticeable stain, which was unpleasant.The house and interior are quite old and in rough condition and would benefit from significant updating/refinishing. The window A/C was inadequate for the hot weather, making the apartment uncomfortably hot and humid during the day.Overall, the location is a strong positive, but the privacy concerns, maintenance issues, condition of the property, and inadequate cooling significantly affected our stay. The listing should be much more explicit about the shared nature of the property and the privacy limitations so guests know what to expect.
