Our family (6 adults and two infants) stayed for a week over the July 4 holiday. It was a perfect spot for us. We were looking for quiet time to spend with the kids and grandchildren. The property is in a remote gated community in the mountains of Tennessee. It is a log cabin with a beautiful, large screened-in back porch overlooking a small lake. It is walking distance to the community pool and small restaurant. The pool was never crowded and was perfect for just hanging out. Of note, the restaurant, named “General Store”, was open for lunch two days a week and was not a store. The nearest grocery was a small Piggly Wiggly 25 min away, so we would recommend bringing in groceries, if possible. The small community put on an amazing hour-long fireworks display which was a highlight of our trip.The home was spacious, comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. Each bedroom had an attached bathroom which was well stocked. The kitchen table was a hightop with 4 tall chairs, so we did have to improvise to have everyone seated for meals. There was a large storm on one of the first days and the power went out for a few hours. The host was very responsive and helped us report it to the electric company. There wasn’t a lot to do in the area besides the lake and state park, but if you are looking for a restful retreat as we were, this is the place. We would highly recommend it.
