great place to stay in Avon.
Location is great with great views. Short walk to the beach.
Property is situated in middle of Avon near the pier. Close to everything. Does not have hot tub or pool but beach is very short walk and you have a view of ocean from the top deck.

Exactly what we expected
Very close to the beach and it was clean, pretty much all we were looking for! Older furniture and appliances but all was functional. New windows and sliding doors were nice since we liked to open them in the mornings and evenings. Would definitely stay here again.

Close but missed the mark
It was close, it just missed the mark in a lot of small places, like, the dishwasher doesn't stay in place, the dryer needs two cycles to actually dry, this is the first time I've stayed anywhere where they didn't have beach towels or chairs...just not what we're used to with other rental agencies. I've also never had an extensive to do list before I leave a property like I had here. Again, just not what we're used to.

Hi Cayla. Thanks for the honest feedback. We're sorry to hear it didn’t quite hit the mark for you. We’ll definitely look into the dryer and dishwasher and get those sorted. We totally get that not having beach towels or chairs can be a letdown, and we’re looking into ways to improve that part of the experience. As for the checkout list, we try to keep things simple, but we hear you and will review that too. Appreciate you giving us a try! We would appreciate your understanding. We look forward to having you again in the future.

Comfortable vacation home
Eagles Nest is a well equipped and comfortable 4 bedroom home. The kitchen has just about every thing you could need. If you don’t want to cook, you are within walking distance of numerous restaraunts. The beds are very comfortable. The ocean view from the deck was a bonus. If traveling by car I would suggest bringing small fans for air circulation in 3 of the 4 bedrooms. The air condition is very good in most of the house but all but one of the bedrooms were warmer than the rest of the house. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Avon.

Great Location
Short walk to the beach is great. Did have a pest issue.... Which was not pleasant. Otherwise house was fine. There is currently heavy equipment on the beach near the pier for beach resoration. Not sure how long it will remain, but buyer (renter) beware.

AVON 2022
Our stay was enjoyable.
Layout of house was excellent.
Location was great , although we had to deal with the restoration and a closed beach for 2 full days. We were not notified of this before our stay. We realize it is something that could not be avoided and we are happy to see the improvements, however we could have planned accordingly had we known.
The bathrooms were not very clean.
Kitchen was well stocked with needed equipment, including a blender. The kitchen knives for cutting meat and veg need replaced- the larger looks like someone tried to chop concrete with it...Clean on arrival. I do wish there had been basic staples on arrival- no coffee filters, salt or pepper, or oil. All the bedrooms were clean and ready. The downstairs shower was great' never hsd one with hot water! And the house was a short walk to the beach, and a short drive to the grocery store. Check in.... could have been quicker. The lone woman manning the desk at Vacasa spent a good ten minutes having a friendly convetsation on the phone with whoever she was talking to when i arrived. Nobody else in sight. When she decided to check me in, she never asked for a drivers license or a booking confirmation number, she just asked for the house name. I recieved the keys, but it seems there are some issues on that front. Overall a good stay, house was what we needed and had plenty of room.

Great for our 2 family vacation - relaxing with access to fun activities
we really enjoyed this house. it was so close to the beach, a walk from a nice neighborhood bar (with playground for the kids), a walk to the pier, and minutes from a grocery store, the bay, and so close to so many fun things to do in the area! plenty of bathrooms, great outdoor shower, and good layout for fun and sleeping. kitchen had plenty of tools, and the dining rooms seated all of us with room to spare (two families of 4). the deck was nice in the evening watching the moon and then the stars. the grill had us wanting more (it's the same kind you see in a park) so we skipped it all together. the air conditioner was good, but not balanced in the house (the coldest was the bed/bath that was NOT the master) first vacation where my husband wants to repeat it next year!!!!

Alexandra,
We appreciate the great comments. Its a pleasure to know that Eagles Nest was to your liking and that it met your expectations. We would also like to thank you for bringing the thermostats issue to our attention, we have passed this information along to the appropriate department. Despite the minor inconveniences you experienced during your stay we hope you come back for our 2019 season for another great vacation.
Thank you,
Hatteras Realty
We have stayed here before but the property may have been under another name. Anyhow, it was very clean and very spacious. We have stayed in places that had a much longer walk to the beach over a couple of dunes. But, since this location is so close to a public access area, you take your chances with your beach options. We staked a spot each morning and then went on a 30- to 40-minute walk. When we got back to our umbrella, people had set up in front of us, or directly behind us, or so close to us on our sides that it was like they were with us. That was...not ideal. The owners of the house did EVERYTHING right, but just be aware that neighbors who only care about their own beach experiences might be living right next to you.

Hi, Michael. Thank you for providing us with this valuable feedback. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the amenities and location of our home. We thank you for your feedback, as it helps us improve our guests' experiences. We look forward to welcoming you back for another fabulous getaway in the future.
Check in and communication with property manager was great! They were helpful and quickly fixed a major problem with bathroom flooding during stay. The house was ok. It needs a little attention. There wasn’t even a workable can opener. That was a little frustrating when trying to cook. Everything is very basic in this house. Also I’m aware of bugs so close to water. But when drinking my coffee in AM on couch and a 2 1/2 inch roach falling on me just topped it off. Wasn’t the first one we seen while our stay. Master room has no air flow…. So my husband and I couldn’t sleep most our stay. Also garbage guys came at 3:15 in the morning. I don’t think I have ever heard such a loud garbage truck! Don’t think we will be back.
Great location, comfortable home. Description needs updated or to be clearer.
We had a wonderful time at the Eagle's Nest. We were there with our kids, who are 10, 7 and 4. They loved it and cannot wait to go back. It is in a very convenient location.
A few notes, though, that are not in the description (or else I missed them):
1. One of the things we loved about this property is its proximity to the pier. However, the pier has been damaged and is closed during reconstruction. The property description references the proximity to the pier, but says nothing about the pier being closed and unusable.
2. It was not a problem for us, but anyone with a tiny baby or anybody who has trouble walking should know that this is not a walk out beach. You have to go up a couple sets of stairs to get over one sand dune and then up and over another sand dune without stairs. Obviously, if you're staying at the house, you probably can handle going up and down stairs since that's the only way into most of the houses in this area. But if you were planning to take a stroller or beach wagon to the beach, leave it at home because you won't be able to use it.
3. The kitchen has all of the utensils you could possibly need, but no spices are provided. Not even salt and pepper. Be sure to bring your own. Also, bring garbage bags because those are not provided either.
4. This is not a great area for biking. there is one sidewalk that runs along the main road and one neighborhood that you can bike in. But the town is not designed with my pants and there is a lot of traffic on the main road. In addition, there is no riding on the beach because you can't get the bikes to the beach. That said, if you bring your own bikes on a trailer, there are other beaches that you can ride on. Also, for people who love to bike, the main road is long and straight. Just not great riding for kids.
All that said, now knowing what we know, we would stay there again in a heartbeat. I would just do a little more research to make sure the pier is open before we book it.
