Great beach week

We loved being able to easily walk to and from the beach. The space was very comfortable with plenty of room for our extended family. We especially enjoyed the bunk beds for all the kids. Our only drawback was the traffic over the bridge to get onto the island.

Fantastic home!

Very family friendly home that accommodates everyone. The elevator came in very handy with my mother that doesn’t do steps very well. The view from the porch on top floor looking out over the ocean is so good. We will definitely stay here again.

Do not waste your time

This place is listed as a dreamy beach house with a great location. Upon arrival we came into a disgusting house and had to waste our entire first day cleaning it. Would not recommend to anyone.

Disappointing Stay Due to Poor Maintenance and Cleanliness

Our stay at the vacation home was disappointing due to several issues. Upon arrival, we found the house in poor cleanliness, requiring us to clean areas like the toilets, sinks, and under the beds ourselves. The home showed significant wear and tear, the A/C unit upstairs was sporadic at best, and ants were a constant problem on the ground floor. Additionally, the bottom lock stopped working midway through the week, and it took two days to reach a resolution. We also lost access to the third-floor room a week before our arrival with no compensation offered. Overall, the property is in need of much better upkeep.

Still waiting to Be Contacted

We’re still waiting for the local team to contact us about a partial refund. It started with us arriving to a dirty house that we had to clean for an hour. There are significant stains on the couches, comforters, and drapery. There was mold on the shower curtains as well. The side steps to the deck weren’t working , we had to buy a blender, a broom, and chair mats because the chairs were so gross even after scrubbing them. The vacuum didn’t work either. At the end of the week our AC went out but the staff did respond quickly to that. We ended up leaving a day early. I’ve given the staff a week from our departure to contact me after messaging them multiple times. I haven’t heard anything. We were at least promised the cleaning fee back and we haven’t received that.

Unhappy with this rental

All linens were not clean. Hair on many sheets and pillow cases. One bed had no fitted sheet. Some beds were not made up properly, messy. After calling they came the next morning and changed all linens. Air conditioner did not work properly on main level. After calling they came the next day and put in two units on that level. I had to wipe out refrigerator and wipe off counter tops. The pantry was messy. The kitchen needed clean pots and pans and some cooking utensils. The railing on the outside deck on main level was loose. After calling they came and inspected it. I’m not sure what happen about that. The outside hose had a hole in it. The downstairs refrigerator did not work properly and had a very musty smell. The elevator did not work properly. After calling they came and worked on it. It worked part of the time we were there. The washer and dryer was full of towels. My husband missed time with family because of calling and waiting on service calls to come. Due to all of this we were refunded $1000, but we can’t bring back vacation time missed with family.

Not our Home Away from Homr

The renting process, checkin/checkout and receiving the house code was all very easy! The house checked all of our boxes as far as needing 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, elevator, ocean view and a short walk to the beach! The kitchen was nicely furnished. Although the refrigerator did not work! We were texted the Saturday of our rental week that the new refrigerator would be installed the next day, Sunday. However, during our 7 day stay the refrigerator was never installed. A smaller refrigerator was provided but it was inadequate for 9 people. The refrigerator in the basement was rusted. We were able to keep drinks there. We found long hairs in a pot & pan in the kitchen! We washed everything before using it! The Tiki Bar was gross & nasty! It smelled of mold which was what was in the unplugged mini refrigerator. There was trash on the floor. The outdoor carpet was coming up. The shower curtain in the 3rd floor shower was molded! I honestly felt cleaner before I took a shower each day! The closet door in this bedroom was busted! The bathroom fan didn’t work in the other bathroom on the 3rd floor. Outside on the main deck/balcony was a beer can & water bottle left from the previous tenants. The A/C on the 3rd floor would reach 83 degrees each day even though we kept the A/C sitting on 70 degrees. The dryer had rust in it! The washing machine was terribly loud! The elevator worked maybe half the time. When it did work it was wonderful! A couple of beds had hairs on the sheets. We also washed them before sleeping on them. The room with the bunk beds had terrible stains on the curtains and on one of the bed frames. That was also the only bedroom to have a TV in it. In the picture description of the house each of the 5 bedrooms had TV’s. One of the private decks/balconies on the 2nd floor had a broken chair. Two of the private decks/balconies didn’t have any furniture. There was broken outdoor lights. Also a board needs to be painted yellow to match the rest of the house as it has been replaced. Our first night at the house we lost power on the 2nd floor and it was basically up to us to find a way to fix it as we couldn’t find the breaker box. With the amount of money it took to rent this house quite honestly we expected more! The homeowners need to spend some time and attention on cleaning up & fixing many things in this house! I have taken pictures of the above listed things & would be glad to share them with you!

Great location & amazing deck!

We loved our week in this home. The deck was fantastic and we spent many hours sitting on the cozy furniture watching the waves and people watching! The location is very close to the beach entrance and getting to and from the beach was no problem. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to cook meals for our group of 11 with no issue- they even had big stock pots, which was a relief as we needed them for several meals. We had some housekeeping issues that went unfixed. There were several loads of dirty, moldy laundry scattered between the washer, dryer, and floor when we arrived Vacasa was informed and said they would come get it but never did, so we had a giant mound of dirty, damp laundry for our whole stay. We were also fully unimpressed with the tiki area. It could be so cool, but is dusty and dark and odd. We never went back up after our initial exploring. I would love to see this fixed up because it really is a neat space! Overall, we had an amazing week with just a couple little hiccups!

Great stay at The Doobler!!!

The layout of the house was fantastic and had plenty of room to spread out! Reverse floorplan with great views from the top floor. Perfect location and beaches were not crowded. Great stay and can't wait to go back!
