Welcome to this charming waterfront farmhouse in New Castle, Va. that is situated on a 136 acre farm. This property offers 3 bedrooms-one with a queen size bed, one with two twin beds, and one with a full bed with it’s own private bathroom. This bathroom has a walk in shower and the common area bathroom has a shower-tub including several amenities. Plus, there’s an additional comfy sofa bed in the large living room space that can sleep two. Additionally, a fully equipped eat in country kitchen with coffee bar. All you need to bring is your favorite foods, and when the weather is nice you can enjoy your coffee or dine on the gorgeous wrap around porches overlooking the creek. If you like fishing and water activities this property has several miles of creek running through it. Numerous waterfowl and whitetail deer are attracted to this property including the beautiful bald eagles and blue herons. If photography is your passion, you won’t be disappointed!In the evenings sit outside by the fire pit and enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful country setting. This property is just 15-20 minutes away from Dragon’s Tooth and McAfee’s Knob Trailheads. Our property has several walking/hiking trails throughout the farm property and in the forest. Private hiking,fishing and camping/picnic area available with a signed waiver at check in. We allow 2 dogs per stay provided they are always leased when outdoors and please clean up after them while in the area around the house. The town of New Castle is just 2 miles away for any necessities you may need and Roanoke and Salem is only a 30 minute drive. Football fans … VT Lane Stadium is only 27 miles away. Why they chose this property

Waterfront property that is easily accessible right in front of the house. Large yard with removable fire pit and plenty of space to play or just relax and enjoy the creek. Many walking/hiking trails , a half acre primitive camping/picnic area as well as water activities are available with a signed waiver. This property is home to several fish species and many types of waterfowl. My favorites are the Blue Heron and the Bald Eagles that are regularly spotted along the creek. The Canadian Geese and the Whitetail Deer are regular visitors. It is a nature photographer’s dream world! Many of these visitors can be seen right from the porches of the Shady Rest. If you want a more challenging hike there are many popular trails nearby such as Dragon's Tooth and Mcafee’s Knob.

This property offers a unique vacation experience at a beautiful creek side setting. If you enjoy nature and the outdoors then this is the perfect place. Hunters welcome to stay as national forest public lands are only a couple miles away.
