We had a wonderful stay! The location was beautiful and convenient, and Troy was very responsive and helpful throughout our visit. The property was a great place to relax and enjoy the area. We would happily stay again!

The property needs to be finished. The portion open was the downstairs. The oven was dirty as well as part of the refrigerator. It looks previous clients had dogs and they allowed them on the furniture. The place was ok.

It was truly what i was looking for with a fantastic view with an undeniable old world vibe that i absolutely love as a mainer. Didnt bring my pup on this trip but after this trip i will definitely be looking to bring her along the next time. It was a fantastic stay and a fantastic location for anyone that is looking to be away from the overly crowded tourist areas. Cant wait to re visit the area.

The Quimby House is charming, with a wonderful view of the harbor. There were three rainbows over the water during my stay—and one of them was a vibrant double rainbow. Someone told me Machiasport is “prone to rainbows.” The inside of the house is clean and freshly refurbished—new floors, new windows, new paint. There’s a comfortable bed, a big TV, and a huge sofa. The host has had some family photos reproduced on canvas to help you get a feel for the history of the place—there’s the lobster boat on the shore, the corner where the Christmas tree always stood, the old folks in the kitchen with the same cupboards you will use right there beyond them. If you love fresh salt air and the sound of waves sifting through millions of polished beach stones, Jasper Beach is right up the road, and if you enjoy a sandy beach, Roque Bluffs State Park is not very far away. Ask someone the story of the first English ship captured in the Revolutionary War—right out there in your beautiful view. There are historical sites to visit and a restaurant famous for its pie in the town next door. The house is just perfect for a laid back, relaxing visit to down east Maine. And there are lobster picks in the drawer!

House is perfectly situated in the woods and close to the water. Amazing for escaping city life and isolating for a while. Host is very gracious and made sure I had everything I needed.
