Great couple getaway!
It was so nice to stay at the River Rock room. As all the other review say, the hot tub and bed were our favorite. Everything was very nicely labeled and communication with Rick was clear. A lovely getaway!

Birthday getaway
My husband and i rented your poperty for his birthday. Your place was amazing and exceeded our expectations. It was so clean, inviting and had everything we needed and than some. From the towels, candles, robes and bath salts to the kitchen with supplies, ice in the freezer and i even found sewing supplies but we didnt need that. We only live 10 minutes away but it gave us a chance to reconnect and spouses and get a break from our 3 teenage daughters. Lol...we will definetly would like to rent this property again in the near future. We've already told many friends about your wonderful place. Thanks allowing us to rent your place. We felt like we were at a resort.

My wife is a local artist, and I am an engineer/musician. We lived in the Washington DC area for 35 years, and I retired from US Navy civilian service in 2014. We had a second home in Lancaster for about 10 years, and decided to live here permanently. My band is called Wild Self. Alana still teaches calligraphy and fashion camps at Glen Echo Park outside of DC, and set painting and design From time to time. We love our sanctuary here in Willow Street, and for us every day feels like being in a resort. Sharing it to inspire others was part of the plan from the beginning because we always loved to entertain. We took over three years of careful planning to create our space, so it would be truly one of the best places to visit in the WORLD, not just Lancaster. Your stay being absolutely wonderful is so important to us. And we are humble. You help us if you would like to leave a suggestion or have a critique or even what you liked best about your stay. Our friendly dog, Coal is NEVER in the room, and corralled when outside away from your garden space. Care is taken to make his presence unobtrusive. We love to meet you but if you are the private type, we get that too and follow your lead on that. I have a tiny “shop” with post cards, handmade origami cards, tee shirts, posters, fine art and other gift items. Just request and I can make it available for you to peruse during your visit.

Why they chose this property

We loved this property for many reasons. It is in the country, yet close to town. It was our dream house, built the year we met by Jay and Betty Haverstick. They are kindred spirits to us because it is a one of a kind, totally unique 6000 sq ft home that is mostly on one level with three big garages. Over the years they put on additions (see the bricks with year to indicate when that wing was added) that just made the house even more perfect for us. They too were entertainers so we loved the great on site parking, outdoor living and over 200 trees planted by Jay made it a perfect property to walk around for daily walks. It is surrounded by large properties that are very well maintained and wonderful neighbors who are friendly, including our Amish neighbors so feel free to say hi and chat with them. I always lived in older homes and never thought a house of this age would be good for me, but it is absolutely wonderful, clean, peaceful energy and environmentally it is wonderful as the farm above is all organic. I tend to have allergies and hayfever but I am absolutely fine here. That was a great plus because being in the country can be a challenge for me. I love that you can walk, hike, jog without having to get in the car and drive. If you would like to host an outdoor wedding or party for up to fifty guests we are also open to talking about hosting an event like this for you.

What makes this property unique

Wildlife sightings, Pure well water out of the tap. Low allergy for country living. Organic farm across the street. Over twenty horses live within 1000 yards of us. Onsite walking and arboretum quality forest to enjoy on property. Large and small fire pit. Art and music creativity support on site. Muse house is designed to inspire creativity. A very unique energy here. There are ancient petroglyphs within 1000 yards of house, and there is a energetic environment that is hard to describe, but for me it feels like time is stopped, or it has a timeless quality to it. I will have to write better on this but everyone agrees it is so easy to leave everything behind when you come here. It is a stress free zone, THAT is for SURE. So we just love that benefit which was such a nice surprise to us. The bed is truly amazing, empower king, Sterns and Foster, variety of pillow softness, custom made duvet and we use 10x10 foot big blankets.
