Alan, the owner, is very friendly and shared with us on which app to download and where to visit to maximise our stay there. The cottage is very tidy and clean. The most important thing is that it is a very private place which what we like. The view is amazing and we could watch sunrise from the cottage! A great experience!
A had a very short stay at the Cottage over the long weekend, very private, peaceful and serenity. Spacious 2 bedroom 1 bathroom cottage, large kitchen (gas appliances) and dining room. Sunny lounge room and verandah. View of river from house/verandah (1 tree in the way) Laundry with washing machine no dryer, clothesline at rear. Air-conditioner in lounge room/dining room & kitchen, fans in bedrooms. Bathroom with bath and separate shower and toilet (unable to use bath due to water restrictions). Bbq provided. Tank water usage. Beautiful property to walk around and fish beside the river. Private boat ramp for guests use only. Would be lovely to stay here in Summer and bring your boat / kayak to use on the river. Other Lodges on property available to rent. Owners very welcoming.
Our young family visited Shoalhaven lodge for a quick weekend escape & found it a little slice of paradise. We enjoyed fishing, bushwalking & just hanging out in the peaceful surrounds. The cottage was cosy & clean, perfect for a family. We’ll be back!

It was a real pleasure to have David and his family stay in our cottage and we would love to see them again. No issues at all, and the cottage was left clean and tidy.
Shoalhaven Cottage is riverside in rural Shoalhaven NSW with easy tourist drive access to picturesque Jervis Bay white sands, Shoalhaven headlands and beaches, historic attractions and off the beaten track discoveries. Relaxing views, accommodating host, comfortable spacious cottage, extensive grounds, abundant nature, adventure awaiting.
We had a relaxing long weekend.. Alan was very friendly. The cottage was very clean and all the basic amenities were provided.
Only thing that was bothering me was the door locks. They got locks but staying in the middle of nature reserve I would expect a better locks/doors so that you feel bit more secure. Its a personal preference though as I stayed with my wife and 2 year old. If you are going in groups then I dont think it will be an issue. The one I stayed was away from other cottages and was in middle of the trees..

The locks on the cottage work fine and are normal locks. The cottage is on our property and not in a nature reserve. We are in a private location and sometimes people are just not used to the beautiful/private area that we live in. We have over 100 acres with absolute frontage to the Shoalhaven River. The area is outstandingly beautiful and we are just a short drive to the town of Nowra. We have never had any issues with security! The cottage has fabulous views of the river and beautiful forest on three sides with plenty of safe open space. The river is a short walk away. Everyone says how beautiful the river and surroundings are.

nightmare
Owner was friendly. However, we had to deal with toilet blockage just few hours after we arrived. We couldn't use the only toilet available as usual which was not good for kids mon and myself. We had to cut our holiday and leave next morning which was a big disappointment for the kids and us as parents ad we have been looking forward to having a relaxing holiday after a hard working previous months.

The guests were very nice. They had 3 small children and we received a call late at night saying the toilet was blocked. We have never had a problem before and felt sure a nappy or something else had caused the blockage. The guests denied this, which we accepted. Unfortunately the blockage required a plumber, and the guests decided to leave the day after. The blockage was subsequently found and cleared. We decided to give a full refund because we want all of our guests to have a really enjoyable time. We are very sorry they did not enjoy themselves and that this problem occurred. We have added additional guest notes to help ensure this problem does not happen again.

Aah the serenity...
An oasis of nature where one can relax and unwind with magnificent scenery. The owners, Alan and Claire, were lovely. They immediately replaced our iron with a brand new one when we told them the old one didn't work. We took our kayak and enjoyed our time on the river. We'll be back!
