What a wonderful trip we had at Maggie’s Farm! The home was exceptionally clean, well stocked and was perfectly spacious for our family of 6. The creek, firepit and trout pond entertained my family for hours. My kids adored feeding the cows across the street, even in the pouring rain! The home is conveniently located to lots of hiking, waterfalls and downtown Brevard. Mark and Jacquie were so accommodating and kind, and made sure we had a comfortable stay despite a tropical storm that rolled through. We would absolutely stay here again!
The place was exactly as described. Home is cozy and inviting and has all amenities of home. I sat by the creek every morning and my dog loved playing in it. Beds are comfortable and waterfalls are nearby everywhere. You will enjoy your time here. We loved it and expect to be back again.
Very clean and spacious house. Creek is beside the house and you can explore in the creek or just sit on the deck and listen to the water flowing. Spacious land to explore on the farm and a pond. Hosts had great communication before and during our stay. Hosts also live on the property and stopped by to meet us while there.
The cabin was cozy and comfortable. My kids loved playing in the stream behind the house. Mark and Jackie are wonderful hosts. We hope to visit again.

It was great meeting you and the kids. So glad you enjoyed our little piece of heaven and thank you for taking such good care of our cabin. Please come see us again. Sincerely, Mark & Jacquie, Violet, Sadie & Thor
We loved staying at Maggie’s farm. Jackie and mark were wonderful hosts. The only disappointment was that while it’s called Maggie’s Farm- there really is no farm.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. We are farming rainbow trout, catfish, apples, pears, plums, blueberries and other edible fruits.
We had family coming to NC to visit in Balsam Grove. This was the perfect location and the perfect home rental. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms was perfect for six adults. Thank you Mark and Jacquie!
We enjoyed eating outside on the deck listening the relaxing sounds of the creek. Our daughter caught fireflies at dusk and played in the creek every day.
The cabin is comfortable and clean in a great location for exploring nearby waterfalls and Pisgah national forest.
Had a great girls vacation with my friends and our dogs. This cabin was the perfect size for the three of us, and it was in a great location for taking day trips to see different waterfalls. Jackie was very nice and let us extend our stay one more day since our Smokey Mountain outing was rained out the day before we were to leave. We loved our time there.
Maggie’s Farm couldn’t have been more perfect for our family. Our son fished with my husband a few times a day and loved it. Mark and Jackie gave us fantastic directions for beautiful local hikes. My husband and I loved having coffee my their babbling brooke. The cabin was extremely clean , comfortable, and perfectly stocked. They really did think of everything. We can’t wait to come back!

We are so happy that your family enjoyed Maggie's Farm. It was a pleasure meeting you and we look forward to seeing again, perhaps in the summertime. Fall is beautiful here, we find Summer very special too. Thanks so much.
Maggie’s cabin is a lovely place to stay. The cabin is so well stocked and has everything you need. Everything is so clean and comfortable. And most of all Mark and Jacquie are lovely hosts. They are so prompt and helpful and hospitable and helped us with anything we needed. They gave us recommendations about places to go and we had brought our dogs and Mark and Jacquie let us walk though their lovely farm.
We had a great time! We will definitely go back.
Our family spent 3 nights here in July and my only regret is not staying longer! The cabin was clean, comfortable, and spacious - perfect for our family of 5 (3 kids ages 9, 11, 14). Our kids loved the creek (tip: bring water shoes) and we had a great time exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway and many nearby waterfalls. During our down time we enjoyed some of the games they had at the cabin. The hosts were lovely and even gave us delicious fresh veggies from their garden! We would absolutely recommend this cabin and would love to return here ourselves!
Thanks to Jacquie and Mark, we had another wonderful stay in Balsam Grove. This was our first time to their property and we hope to make the trip more than once a year. They were the ultimate hosts, not only anticipating material needs, but also accommodating with suggestions for local hikes, waterfalls, and other entertainment around the farm. I like the hidden gem Balsam Grove is and intend to return for years with our children.
The cabin by the creek at Maggie's Farm was just the right fit for our family. Everything was spotless when we arrived. It was by far the cleanest and most well stocked cabin we've ever rented through Vrbo. We always spend time hiking on this trip, and you are within easy driving distance of several state & national parks. Mark & Jacquie are delightful people and were so quick to take care of any need that we had. We will be sure to look them up again when staying in the area. This cabin helped our family to make wonderful memories.
Maggie’s Farm is just amazing! Great summer getaway
The owners are super nice. They were very accommodating and great communication. They have really figured out how to be great host.
Pros:
- cleanliness
- kitchen stocked with everything you need
- beds were very comfortable
- plants around the house were just beautiful
- vegetable gardens everywhere ( we pick zucchini and cucumbers, so good)
- The creek kept the dog and kids busy for hours
- trout pond was amazing, kids loved it
- hiking everywhere around the area
Cons - none
We plan on coming back and spending more time at Maggie’s Farm in the future.
It was a great little property in a peaceful valley outside Brevard NC, about 30-40 minutes from town. The owners, who live on the farm, were very friendly and helpful and made the stay at one of their rental properties very comfortable. The property itself was clean and comfortably furnished. We took our dog with us and she absolutely loved the creek and the front yard. There was no cell service but they did provide internet which was helpful with staying connected. I highly recommend the property.

Hi Heather, thank you so much for staying with us at Maggie's Farm. I wish you would have asked about the cell service I could have helped you with that. Go to your phone settings and go to wifi calling. Turn on the wifi calling in settings and you can recieve calls and talk all over the world on your cell phone. For next time. Thanks again.
Maggies Farm is a VERY clean and lovely property that is nestled in the mountains. The rushing from the bubbling creek provided for early morning relaxation while coffee sipping on the deck and we enjoyed watching deer feed in the field directly across the street.
My seven-year-old had a lot of fun playing in the creek and looking at the fish in the pond. The hosts were phenomenally hospitable and went above and beyond to provide our special needs son with the equipment he needed to make his stay better and more enjoyable.
We would definitely visit Maggie‘s farm again.

Cute place
Little misleading, it’s not a cabin, it’s a trailer. It was nice and clean. The weather was rainy our entire trip and that made the grounds soggy. We made the best of it. Nice little getaway. You have to travel a good ways to get to anything. The lamb/sheep were a nice touch to the property. We loved petting them. Snow would have made the trip a lot better! 😀

Please be aware the cabin on the creek is NOT a trailer. It is a custom built, top of the line modular cabin home. Construction was just recently completed on site. It is a pity about the soggy grass, we had a very bad winter storm with 7 inches of rain 36 hours prior to your arrival, which was preceded by 12 inches of snow 10 days prior to that. Hoping you had a safe trip home.
Sincerely, M Hatch, The Cabin at Maggie's Farm
We had a great stay at Maggie's Farm. Mark, the owner, went above and beyond to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. My son picked the house because he wanted to catch trout, and it did not disappoint! He caught fish on the pond and on the stream that runs on the property, as well as on the Davidson River which is 30 min. away. You have cell service in the house while on wi-fi, but there is no cell service outside of the house, which was nice for a change. We had a great meal in Brevard one night and grilled at the house on the second night. Grill works great. The road to get there is very curvy, so the 12 miles to get there from Brevard takes 30 minutes, so you want to prepare before you go. It is remote, and a wonderful place to unplug. Beautiful setting, well-stocked house, and a great host!
