Eileen was excellent! Super communicative and helpful before and during the trip answering all our questions. The home was beautiful - picturesque setting right on the water - and bonus excellent views of the foliage. The cottage was well equipped with everything you’d need - comfy bed, plenty of towels, kitchen basics, and plenty of coffee to enjoy by the lake. It was the perfect base for a fall getaway from the city!!

We had a perfect long weekend stay at this lovely cottage. We enjoyed the stunning views of the lake right from the deck and from all of the beautiful windows from inside of the house. The house is pristine, comfortable, and had everything we needed to easily enjoy our stay. The host was wonderful and the house was so thoughtfully stocked with special things that helped us relax and enjoy our time. This cottage is truly special being right on the lake - it was so convenient for us to paddle board, float, swim, and do some fishing. We’re already dreaming about when we can visit again!

The lake cabin had everything we needed! Eileen was a great hostess. The picture on VRBO was exact. Several special "extra" items were left for us. We asked for something extra and she obliged !!!!!!! GREAT view of the lake !!

The cabin was out of a dream! The view is all water, the neighborhood is beautiful. Walking distance to restaurants and the library, we couldnt have asked for better. This is a place to get cozy, calm and bright in the winters and soak up the sun all summer. We're so happy to have stayed new year!

My husband & I simply could not have been more pleased with our stay at the Cottage in Mahopac & with our host! The cottage was delightful: indeed an "enchanting spot to unwind". It was the PERFECT place to stay for my water-loving husband (even in October) & for our guided tour of Petra Island! When it wasn't too cold outside or raining, my husband spent his time on the deck enjoying the view & the calming sounds of the lake. I mostly chose to curl up on one of the comfortable love seats with a warm blanket provided by our gracious host & a good book! You can view the lake from anywhere in the living room, so I didn't miss out. When we did venture out, we found ourselves choosing to come back to relax instead of finding one more thing to do... and we NEVER do that when we travel! The space was calming, clean, & extremely well-appointed. I have never been to a rental so well stocked! The bed was soft & comfortable for me, but a little too soft for my husband. Still, we would stay here again in a heartbeat and HIGHLY recommend you do the same. :) Just be aware that the front part of the cottage serves as a small boathouse. This wasn't an issue for us, but we weren't aware of it beforehand & I imagine it could get noisy during the summer months.Eileen was the MOST responsive host we have ever had. She was proactive & thoughtful, going above & beyond our expectations to ensure we had an amazing experience. We cannot thank her enough for her kindness & attentiveness!
