The Yooperlite House - Tremendous 1-bedroom tiny house cabin in cozy L'Anse
The Yooperlite House is tucked in the forest, just off a private driveway. With plenty of parking, ample outdoor space, and a cozy feel, you'll have all the amenities of home, with all the privacy of the woods. Located just a few minutes from Lake Superior and downtown L'Anse. Great central location between the Keweenaw Peninsula, Marquette, and the Porcupine Mountains. UP Snowmobile trail#14 runs feet from the end of the driveway, combining easy trail access with a secluded tiny home feel.
The Yooperlite house is located on a 10 acre parcel with our primary residence and homestead - the Party Fowl Homestead. There is a sign for the homestead at the end of our driveway. The tiny home is a few hundred feet up our private driveway, located on the right side - you can't miss it. Our home is further up the driveway passed the tiny home, and we ask that you remain in the general vicinity of the Yooperlite house and don't venture up to our house. There is plenty of outdoor space on our property that you are welcome to enjoy. This includes fire pits and picnic tables adjacent to the tiny home. Our house and the tiny house are in two separate spaces to provide you with privacy during your stay.
House manual: Kitchen: -The kitchen is equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, 2-burner stove, and coffee maker. Included are cookware, cooking utensils, silverware, glasses, plates, and bowls. You will find coffee, decaf, tea, sugars, creamers, and honey available for your use. -The fire extinguisher is located beneath the sink. -The garbage can is located beneath the sink. -There is a propane gas grill available for cooking too. I have included ignition instructions later in this guide. -We have included a complimentary 6-pack of organic, farm fresh eggs in the mini-fridge. These eggs come from our homestead which is located on this same property. This 6-pack includes 3 chicken eggs (the brown ones) and 3 duck eggs (the white ones). We hope you’ll enjoy breakfast on us! -There is a small box fan under the sink that can fit in the window. -There is a small dehumidifier with drain hose under the sink, which can be set up, if needed.
Family room/Bedroom: -TV: The TV remote is in the drawer just beneath the TV. We don’t have Wi-Fi available yet, but the TV can be linked to a phone hot spot or hooked to a laptop with HDMI cable, for now. There is also a video game emulator that is hooked to the TV, with the controllers in the bottom drawer under the remotes. -Lantern: The red lantern operates on a timer and will turn itself off automatically after a few hours. -Emulator instructions: There is a Arcade, Nintendo, Gameboy, Gameboy Advanced, Gameboy Color, Sega , Super Nintendo, PlayStation, Atari emulator in the bottom left drawer under the TV. This is fairly plug-and-play by going to the correct TV Input on the TV remote. The emulator controller(s) are turned on by pressing the "start" button. Pressing the "start" and the "select" buttons at the same time allows you to quit/save your game. -Games: The top cabinet on the left side of the tiny home (opposite kitchen side) contains several board games, decks of cards, puzzles, and local books for your enjoyment. -Clock/charger/Bluetooth speaker: The “G-shaped” clock is an alarm clock, phone charger, Bluetooth speaker, and light-show in one. The user manual can be found at the following link for any assistance: https://manuals.plus/soundbound/sspbl00-067-color-changing-led-alarm-clock-speaker-manual.pdf -Pull out drawers under the bed contain some extra supplies and extra space for your usage. The left drawer is mostly empty for backpacks, laptop cases, small suitcases, or anything else you want to stow away. The pull out drawer on the right contains some extra bedding supplies. -The top bunk mattress is a custom twin size and the bottom mattress is a standard full size.
Remotes: -TV Remote: Located in the top drawer under the TV. This remote controls the TV. -Overhead fan & light remote: Located in the top drawer under the TV. This remote controls the overhead light and internal fan. You can change the light color, the brightness, fan direction, and fan speed with this remote. -Heat pump & Air conditioner remote: Located just beneath the indoor HVAC system, this remote controls temperature control. This is the heat during the winter, the air conditioning during the summer, and dehumidification when needed.
Bathroom: -Switches. All light switches for the bathroom are on the right wall, when looking in from the kitchen area. The switches are covered by a waterproof cover, which opens. There are two lights and one exhaust fan switch. -Toilet paper holder: The toilet paper holder is waterproof to protect the roll from the shower. This is located to the left of the toilet, mounted on the wall. -Shower: When showering, please make sure to position the shower curtain to keep water inside the bathroom and extend as far as possible on both sides. The curtain weights are useful to keep the water on the “drain-side” of the bathroom. The tiny home is equipped with a 4-gallon hot water heater, which is more than sufficient for a nice warm (but quicker) shower. It heats quickly but can also be used quickly if turned all the way up and left running. I recommend being ready to hop in, turning on the water about 70% of the way on the shower dial towards hot, then getting in once the temperature is reached. By nature of being a tiny home, there isn’t a whole lot of plumbing between the hot water heater and the shower, and this process happens quickly. Please be careful not to use up all your hot water before hopping in. -Soap dispenser: We have body wash, shampoo, and conditioner available in the soap dispensers, mounted on the shower wall.
Outside: -String lights: String lights are on an automatic timer to come on around dusk and turn off around midnight. -Parking: Please park respectfully around the tiny home. There is plenty of space and if you aren’t parking on the driveway itself, there should be no issues. Please avoid parking or walking around the electrical panel. Gas grill out front: The propane grill out front has an internal ignitor for lighting. First, you’ll need to remove the cover and place it somewhere safe. Before beginning the ignition process, make sure the burners are all turned to “off.” Next, open the propane tank nozzle by turning counterclockwise. This is the part on the propane tank itself, which is located under the right side of the grill. Once you have the gas turned on, pick the burner to light and slowly turn the knob counterclockwise until you hear it spark. That spark should have ignited the burner. The spark is triggered by the knob reaching a certain point when being turned. If for any reason the burner didn’t light, simply turn the knob back to its starting position and try the process again. It’s important to turn slowly when doing this. If you need to use more than one burner, just repeat this same process with the 2nd and 3rd burner knob. -Firepit: Please keep all fires within designated fire pits or fire rings and keep size of fire responsible for the conditions. If it is too windy, too dry, or locally prohibited by law (burn bans), the fire pit will be off limits. You’ll need to bring your own firewood currently. -Games: Once the snow melts, you will find some games available outside for your enjoyment. This includes connect 4, a frisbee golf basket, horseshoes, croquet, and bags. There is also a bug tent to use - just in case.

Super warm and Cozy was what greeted me when I first walked in. Add a delish local candy bar a a1/2 dozen farm fresh eggs, what more could one ask for except more time to enjoy the cabin. Top notch!

This is one of the most cozy rentals I've ever booked! The lights were a great addition, and the layout was small yet functional.
The beds were plenty big, and the bathroom was super clean.
The firewood for the fire is a great way to spend the night.
Only able to stay one night but will come again. Just wish there was a place to sit/no bed above the main bed so there is a place to sit.

Thank you very much for your feedback - this is valuable and much appreciated. We are adding a couple folding stools to the unit. These will be in left cabinet under the bed. The next time you stay with us, these stools will be available for you to use. We are looking forward to your next visit!
This was a very clean and well setup vacation rental. They supplied everything to make your stay comfortable: coffee, creamer, honey, eggs, toothbrushes and paste, soap, shampoo, games, bottled water, grill, fire pit with wood, and even a hair dryer. I’m positive I didn’t think of everything, but they did. They are the best hosts that I have encountered. I truly appreciate the effort they put into making my stay comfortable.
Amazing host! Peaceful little cabin tucked right in the woods, me and my family had an excellent few nights stayed and we look forward to staying again sometime in the near future. They also have some tasty farm fresh eggs
