Great location! Amazing view!

What did we love? The view! The location was great too! Plenty of exploring (hiking, waterfalls, kayaking, wildlife, national parks, water) north or south of the home along the hood canal and up into Port Townsend. And of course, Olympic National Park to the west. Oh, did I mention the view!?! We used the grill and outdoor fireplace during the evenings and even though the view faces east, the sunset colors were amazing. You can kayak right off the beach or visit one of the many kayaking locations around the canal. Our goal was to do some whale watching from land and we were able to explore all the beaches & viewpoints up and down the canal. We had a magical moment at Twanoh State Park when orcas surfaced as we were kayaking! We saw whales (orcas, humpbacks) and other wildlife (otters, seals, harbor porpoises, bald eagles, deer) along the canal every day we were here. You could stay put & relax your whole visit and access the water with the stairs that lead right to the beach (but bring food as there's not a lot of restaurant options close by) or explore every day! As a new rental, there are a few quirks being worked out but Vacasa was quick, helpful, and responsive. We would definitely come back again!
