Just what I like to hear! I hope Robinson's Roost is first on your list the next time you and your family are looking for a get-away! Thanks for choosing RR!
We have stayed at Robinson’s Roost several times and are always so pleased with EVERYTHING. The owner is prompt in responding to us and the property is awesome. The kitchen is amply supplied and there is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy. You will not be disappointed!
The house was perfect for our family to get together and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. The beds were all very comfortable. The porch was perfect for hanging out and playing games with the kids while others watched football in the living room. The kitchen was ideal. We would definitely stay there again.

Sharon, I love sharing my home with others and it warms my heart to hear such nice comments! I'm glad your family enjoyed Robinson's Roost!
Perfect spot for the Bass Fisherman and his friends. Great boat parking and plenty of beds. We will try and book here every time we come back to Guntersville.
Jeffrey, I’m so pleased you enjoyed your visit to Robinson’s Roost! We love sharing our little corner of paradise with others. As we say, “Y’all come back now, ya’ hear?”
This is our 2nd time to stay here. The host is so easy and helpful and the property is as advertised. Even many upgrades since our last stay. Great parking, plenty of great beds, easy walk to the dock, etc. A++++.!!!!!
This location is great for fishing and water activities during the season. We had a girls weekend in the fall and drove to Guntersville to shop and for dinner. It was a little to isolated for our purposes but would be good for a family.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Robinson's Roost!
Plenty of room for us all to spread out. The bedrooms are spacious & comfy. The bathrooms are large. The kitchen had everything we needed. The neighborhood is quiet and the house felt very private.
We especially enjoyed the sunroom and the outside spaces.
We'd love to stay again when we're in the area.

I'm so glad Robinson's Roost suited your group's needs--except for the weather! It got exciting, didn't it? I am so grateful to have the basement bedrooms for safety retreats during our Alabama "weather events"! Come back any time!
We enjoyed the home. It has a beautiful and comfortable enclosed sitting area attached to the home that we enjoyed. The weather didn’t cooperate as much as we would have liked, however we still had a good time. The host was helpful and kind.

I’m so glad you enjoyed your time at the lake but unfortunately the weather doesn’t always cooperate, does it? Hopefully the next time you visit Guntersville Lake it will be blue skies and sunny days!
About the host
Hosted by Carolyn Robinson
Things I love: I love being a mom and grandmom. I enjoy reading as long as it isn't too dry or too gory and I like to learn along the way. Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett introduced me to historic aspects of European architecture, entertaining all the while, whereas Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (1918-1956) made me think: “Bless you prison, bless you for being in my life. For there, lying upon the rotting prison straw, I came to realize that the object of life is not prosperity as we are made to believe, but the maturity of the human soul.” The Gulag Archipelago
I love sharing my home with others. My parents built Robinson's Roost in 1976, quickly establishing an "open door policy" with family and friends. Robinson's Roost became a safe haven from the throes of life, a place to rest, recover, recuperate. I get great satisfaction when guests comment on the sense of peace and restoration they experience during a visit to The Roost.
Things I've done: I've had the opportunity to travel a bit, witnessing citizens in other countries who survive under seemingly impossible circumstances, as we in the US are letting slip away the very blessings, hopes and dreams for which the rest of the world longs. Each country and each people group has its strengths and frailties. A choice to embrace differences in one another makes life for us all easier, exemplifying "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you."
My professional life had several iterations but all revolved around face to face contact with others. I have worked in the healthcare field, sales, the financial and software industries. Surprisingly, I am finding that this phase of my life is the most personally satisfying!
There are few things I can't live without, although I admit I do like creature comforts. Four things I prefer having in my life include easy access to fresh potable water, kind words, supportive family and friends of integrity, and the Good Book.
Oh--and I love to laugh.
Why they chose this property
Robinson's Roost was built in 1976 by my dad, who, from his youth spent his leisure hours fishing the Tennessee River (according to my grandmother, he fished during non-leisure hours too :). His love of fishing brought him and Mother back to the river, now Guntersville Lake, to build Robinson's Roost and to retire to the river.
Our family spent many lazy summer days playing in the water and sun. We began swimming after breakfast, ate a lazy lunch on the dock, then swam and played until suppertime! Daddy was always ready to pilot the boat to take us waterskiing and he ensured that we had a good go of it throughout the day. He reveled in our abilities as future Cypress Garden stars (hmm, none of us achieved THAT goal!).
Mother and Daddy established an open door policy, providing a safe haven for friends and family to visit, with an open invitation to stay as long as possible. All who turned up on their doorstep were welcomed guests. In fact, one Christmas holiday Mother and Daddy entertained 20 people as overnight guests for over a week! We had a grand time and still reminisce over the events of that week. My parents truly believed, 'The more, the merrier!'
The wonder and fascination of the river continues here at Robinson's Roost.
Come. Make memories here!
What makes this property unique
Robinson's Roost is located on a winding road through a wooded area, perfect for taking your morning walk (approximately one mile to the large stone entrance). You just might spy some of our four-footed residents such as white-tail deer, raccoons, rabbits and maybe a fox or two. Stay alert! At night an albino skunk family may be found wandering around the neighborhood!
If you are a bird watcher, keep your peepers open. Perhaps you'll spy our national bird, the bald eagle, or perhaps a bluebird, wren, pileated woodpecker (of Woody Woodpecker fame--huge!), tufted titmouse, chickadee, hummingbird, downy woodpecker, red-headed woodpecker, yellowhammer (woodpecker that is the Alabama state bird) or another specimen altogether. During the summer, look to the sky and keep your ears sharp. Maybe you'll hear an osprey whistling high above the river long before you see him. The ospreys nest in the trees surrounding Robinson's Roost. Around July 25 the adults circle overhead, calling to their nestlings, coaxing them to join them in the sky. It is an exciting day when the osprey fledglings take flight!
For the fishermen, Robinson's Roost is conveniently located near GoosePond Colony & Marina, the location of multiple fishing tournaments annually.
Day trips abound: Cathedral Caverns, Little River Canyon, Desoto State Park, Guntersville State Park, the Walls of Jericho, Bucks Pocket... the opportunities for outdoor adventures are never far from Robinson's Roost!
