Great Location, Cozy Stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was great, very spacious, enjoyed the games and hot tub. The only thing that I disliked was that there was no Hairdryer and no shampoo, conditioner or body wash. With how much you pay for these rentals and someone who is traveling especially via plane and having to go buy those for your stay was a bummer. I think travel size bottles being provided would be very easy and cost effective perk. Otherwise the unit was great
Response from VrboOwner on 25 May 2026
Thank you for your feedback! Were so stoked to hear you enjoyed the spacious cabin, games, and hot tub. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the missing hairdryer and toiletries. We understand how important those essentials are, especially when traveling, and we appreciate your suggestion about providing travel-size items. Thats helpful input for improving the guest experience. We are happy the rest of your stay was great, and we hope to host you again in the future. Lovely getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a wonderful time at our Chalet. It was spotless and everything was just as pictured. The manager provided such excellent service and helped us right away when our cars got stuck in the mud. Thank you so much (again!) Would recommend and hope to come back and stay for a longer visit.

February trip

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Got there Thursday afternoon, left Sunday morning. Nothing was spectacular, but nothing was poor either. The house was pretty clean - some dead bugs in the corners but no big deal. I was hoping for more privacy from the neighbors in the hot tub. The shower is cool, and the jacuzzi next to the bed is nice. The parking area was mainly mud. Other than the back deck privacy, we had a good stay.
Response from VrboOwner on 26 February 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your February stay. We truly appreciate your balanced review. We are glad to hear you had a good overall visit and enjoyed features like the shower and the jacuzzi tub by the bed — those are definitely guest favorites! At the same time, we appreciate you pointing out the areas that could have been better. We apologize for the dead bugs you noticed. Even with regular cleaning and pest control, they can occasionally appear, especially during seasonal changes, but we will be sure to share this with our team for extra attention. Please know that we keep staff on hand to happily assist with any cabin issues during your stay 24/7. We also understand your concerns about hot tub privacy and the muddy parking area. Weather can certainly impact the driveway conditions, but we are always looking at ways to improve both privacy and the overall guest experience. Thank you again for your honest feedback. It helps us continue to improve, and we would love the opportunity to host you again in the future! Remember, as a repeat visitor you will save 10% on future stays, hurry back!

Great stay!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was lovely and exactly as pictured! Fantastic location - very private, but not entirely secluded. Stores for necessities/groceries are within a short driving distance, it's in the heart of the arts/crafts loop, and also close to both explore the trails in the Smokeys and the main drag in downtown Gatlinburg. Elk Springs Resort was incredibly easy to work with, from check in to check out. A great stay and would absolutely come back!

2/10 Terrible

Deeply Disappointed

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I don't want to give this company any more of my time, but I feel obligated to warn others of renting from them. We've rented from Elk Springs on three separate occasions prior to this most recent stay. The three other stays were flawless. (Turns out the company changed hands between then and now.) This time, we arrived to a filthy cabin and dirty linens. We had to spend the first 24 hours of our vacation cleaning crumbs from counters, sticky residue from the bathroom vanity, and hair from all of the sheets and towels. It was disgusting. There was also an oily spill on the dresser drawers and carpet in one of the bedrooms, which the company refused to clean until our stay was over (a week later). Finally, the railing from the top floor overlook was extremely loose and unsafe. Maintenance only came out to fix it after we contacted the office twice about the issue. We had children with us and were worried they would lean on the railing and fall to the floor at least 12 feet below. When contacting the office, they did not answer the phone. After letting it ring several times and someone clearly picking up the phone just to hang it up and end the call, we emailed them. They replied stating that they had no missed calls and claimed they had tried to call us back. (They did not, as there was no missed call or voicemail from them on either of our phones.) They then proceeded to go back and forth with us through email, conveniently ignoring portions of our questions and requests and only responding to the safety issue of the loose railing after we reminded them what a huge liability it was for their company. I have read online that they delete/hide unfavorable reviews, so I'm not expecting this to be published, but here it is for what it's worth. Also, if you look at the reviews of the cabin on their website, they are incomplete and undated. They are likely using old reviews from when the company was under different management.
Response from VrboOwner on 8 September 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize that this stay did not reflect the positive experiences you have had with us in the past. We are especially sorry for the cleanliness concerns upon arrival, the delay in addressing the safety issue with the railing, and the frustration you experienced while communicating with our team. This is not the level of service we strive to provide. Your comments have been shared with our management, housekeeping, and maintenance teams for immediate review. We appreciate your honest feedback and the opportunity to improve. Truly hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a much better experience.

Sandra and William from Montana

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was overall a wonderful experience. Just a few suggestions for the furniture layout of the master bedroom. I would have moved the bed closer to the opposite wall from the jacuzzi heart shaped bathtub, to give the guest on that side of the bed more room to get out of bed. And to allow for the placement of a bedside table for the guest on that side of the bed. Also, I would add some sort of a cabinet table next to the sink to put toiletries etc..
Response from VrboOwner on 20 October 2025
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We are delighted to hear that your stay at the cabin was a wonderful experience overall. Its always great to host guests who truly take in the space and offer helpful feedback. We really appreciate your suggestions regarding the master bedroom layout and bathroom setup.
