About the host
Hosted by Fenn Nelson
Fenn, a long-time Hamilton local, and Dan, a Hamilton temp-now-Bozeman-resident, met many years ago over a shared passion for mountain biking. Whether pedaling to the top of a mountain, taking the dogs to the river for a swim, or enjoying a cold one on the porch, Fenn & Dan were equally intrigued with owning & renting real estate. If the numbers work, then why not go for it? So in 2018, we partnered up and dropped in and bought our first property. Long term rentals, though less work, are less personable and less fulfilling. So we ventured into the short term realm!
We both work full-time on our regular businesses and manage the real estate business on the side. We love hearing our guests' stories, helping them find the best restaurant in town, finding a guide for their day on the river, and depending on the time of day, where to find the best locally roasted coffee or fresh brew in town! (just ask Fenn about that ;)

Why they chose this property
We had four criteria when searching for our home:
1. Southside of town
2. Walkable to downtown
3. Walkable to the river
4. 1000+ square feet and 2 or more bedrooms.
We love the quiet neighborhood, mature tree canopy, and proximity to everything Hamilton has to offer.
While town is great, variety is the spice we all live for! Within a few miles of our home, you can find trails to access the Bitterroot or Sapphire mountains. These mountain ranges are the book ends to our beautiful valley that we have come to love and enjoy. We think you will love it here too!

What makes this property unique
If only this place could tell a story! Co-owners & friends, Dan & Fenn, saw the need for another 2 bedroom short-term stay option in Hamilton, MT and purchased what was to become the Fussy Flamingo in July of 2024.
Ten months later (with lots of sweat and tears) we had transformed a dark (some might say dilapidated) 1940's home into what it is today. Carpet was removed, walls torn down, plumbing & electrical replaced, expanded and fully updated kitchen, half bath added, doorways moved, and paint was applied. All of this was designed and done with the intent of creating one of the best short-term stay experiences in town. Fun fact: We curated lot of the art and designed the color palette in the home around the half bathroom wallpaper that we found so unique--we had to have it!
