The property was very clean upon check in. Kitchen and dining room are spacious, but living room was smaller than expected. There is no AC which is something I did not think to check for before booking so that's on me and not the owner. As a result, the house was pretty hot at times and we couldn't open many windows because they didn't have screens (no screens led to flies/gnats coming in at night). The owner said this was a new rental so I'm guessing they're going to install screens on the windows in the near future. The driveway can accommodate several vehicles which was great for us since we brought trailers and side by sides. When we needed extra supplies (paper towels), the owner was quick to bring us some and communication was good. We would definitely rent this property again, but probably at a cooler time of year.

Hi Jennifer. With this being a new rental property for us, we also did not anticipate how warm it would be during the summer. We have since installed air conditioning and should be much cooler next time you visit in the summer. Our screens were in the process of being repaired and replaced while you were staying and will be installed the next time you visit. It was our pleasure to host you and your group!

Why they chose this property
Buena Vista, often called "BV" or "Byoonee" by locals, is a quintessential Colorado mountain town that perfectly balances a laid-back atmosphere with high-octane outdoor adventure. The food scene is locally driven, with a variety of independent eateries that emphasize fresh ingredients and a welcoming "mountain town" feel. The area is defined by its stunning views of the Collegiate Peaks—a range featuring several of Colorado's "14ers" with summit elevations of 14,000+ feet—and a community-focused culture where the river and mountain trails are the center of daily life. The neighborhood serves as a gateway to the Buena Vista Whitewater Park, where visitors can watch kayakers and rafters take on the rapids of the Arkansas River or stroll/hike along it's trails. You'll find a mix of well-preserved Victorian-era buildings and modern, rustic-inspired architecture featuring gabled roofs and stone fireplaces.
What makes this property unique
The neighborhood surrounding our home is exceptionally walkable, placing you just blocks away from the historic downtown district and the Arkansas River. You are almost guaranteed to spot mule deer. Feel free to leave your car behind to explore the local boutiques, art galleries, cafes and restaurants that line East Main Street. We're also less than a 15 minute drive to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs, Cottonwood Hot Springs and Charlotte Hot Springs as well as several Collegiate Peak trail heads.
