I rented the house to have a place to stay while visiting family from Virginia. The home was comfy and large enough to host my family of 8 and entertain extended family for a Thanksmas celebration. I didn’t find a shovel or salt which would have been helpful since it showed. I was also told it had 2 slow cookers, and couldn’t find either. Besides that, our experience was very pleasant and we would rent this home again.
We had a fantastic time visiting with family and friends here. The host was very kind and called us in advance. There are beds and bathrooms galore. The fire pit was awesome for late night visiting with friends. The local coffee shop was wonderful. And seriously, the TP was probably the thickest and fanciest we have seen. My father would have loved it.
This was a lovely house-plenty of space for the 12 of us. The back deck with the 2 canopy umbrellas was amazing, both in the afternoon and at night, and in the morning, the front deck was the perfect place to drink coffee and watch several deer wander past the house. The location relative to the Security Gate at Treasure Lake was also nice-less than a five minute drive. Both Lori and Mimi were readily available anytime we had questions. This was a delightful rental and I would definitely book again.
The property was just as described and pictured in the listing. I didn't have much contact with the owner but when I did she was kind and responsive. The property manager, Mimi, was great! The location was also good. The house had lots of amenities. The kitchen had everything we needed and there were toys for the kids to play with. There was plenty of space, rooms/bathrooms for our entire family. I would actually giving the place 4.5 starts because it could have been cleaner but it wasn't gross by any means. Keep in mind there are only 6 passes for the entire house and they are only good Monday through Thursday. This didn't effect us because 5 and under didn't need a pass so we had enough for everyone. We were also there from Sunday through Thursday so we didn't feel like we missed out on anything. Really enjoyed our time and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!
This is a huge house, nice beds and quiet neighborhood. We found the house fancinating. Definitely not for kids with the spiral staircase. We loved seeing all the deer close up.

Friendcation
We decided to take a friendcation which consisted of 3 families. 6 adults and 10 kids ranging in age from 3 months to 14.
I had messaged the host asking about the passes for the pool and it wasn’t super clear until we got there that there is ONLY 6 PASSES and ONLY 6 can use them at A TIME. We found this ver confusing as the rental is for 16 people but only 6 can swim…. Which is super misleading. It should also be noted that you can’t use the passes Friday, Saturday or Sunday. We were then told that there are beaches you can swim at but might have to pay to use.
This was our first conflict. The second was that we arrived on a Thursday and the trash outside was already full and would not be picked up til Tuesday… so our 3 families had to really limit the trash we were throwing away because we had no place to put it.
Then upon unpacking the cleanliness was not there. Dust and hair on the floor, stands and linens. Spiderwebs in the showers and mouse droppings in the kitchen. We have pictures and video of this as well. We had to clean every kitchen item before using. The fridge did work but we were nervous about it because the door seal is broke. And when i reached out to the host about it i didn’t get a response back.
You have to be careful of the one bed because the leg literally falls off and did it twice to our friends. And there were marks on the floor that shown that it had happened multiple times prior. The beds do seem to bow in the middle a bit as well.
The Property location is great. We had all the things we needed in the kitchen. The wrap around porch was fabulous. We enjoyed the house after we cleaned, washed sheets, and blankets. The sheet had hair on them and what felt like sand on them. The blankets on the beds had food stains on them which came out after we washed them. After driving 900 miles, cleaning was the last thing we wanted to do.
Lori was absolutely amazing with her communication and so sweet! She gave suggestions of places nearby for the kids. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. The lake and beach are only a 5 minute drive. Beach is small but so, so nice. They provided two kayaks and a paddle boat (just make sure you have a way of transporting them), the kids had a blast! They also loved the ping pong and pool table! The wrap around porch is wonderful with plenty of tables and seating is provided. We didn’t have a chance to get to the pool because it rained for two days but we still had fun at the house on those days.
Great location in a beautiful area. The house was clean and very cozy for our group. Great place to stay when visiting the area! Hight recommend!

Disappointing
From the picture it doesn't show how many steps to get up to it . The spiral stair case in side is small for adults &for children We were told not to take the sheets off before we departed . We don't think they wash the sheets we found Black stuff in the sheets Wear your shoes in the house Our feet were black with fuzzy black stuff on them washed our feet before we went to bed. Don't know if they allow dogs but that maybe were the black fur came from We have been rent for 10 years this is the first one I gave a poor review & beach passes are only good Mon -Thurs we were there for the weekend
Lots of room for our family of 11. Our family pups enjoyed the stay as well.

family get together
place was clean but not up to our expectations
spiral staircase dangerous to elderly and children
trundle bed listed as a full bed but is really two separate mattresses and old fashioned springs base
This rental unit is a perfect spot for a family get together
This property was perfect for our family who were coming from four different directions and meeting here. The multiple bedrooms and many bathrooms made it possible for each family group to have their own space without the need to share sleeping and bath facilities. We appreciated the fact that it is a pet friendly property. The open space main living area was large enough for us all to gather - plenty of seating, toys, games, activities appropriate for all ages. There is a very large deck with plenty of seating and outdoor tables, etc. as well as a fire pit area which we enjoyed. We were there off season so did not try to use any of the Treasure Lake facilities though we did walk on the cart lanes of the golf course. Although this property itself is near the lake and you can see it through the trees, it is not possible to walk to the shore line as all access is through other private property lining the entire perimeter of the lake. There is a beach area; however the roads through the Treasure Lake complex are really not conducive to foot traffic so one should be prepared to drive to the community beach area. There are kayaks and water/beach toys available for guest use, however given the time of year and weather we did not use them. Do not expect anything in the nearby town of DuBois. Other than a wonderful bakery (Uzi's) and a couple of decent restaurants, there is not much to recommend. Don't be misled by online recommendations of what there is to see or do - many businesses have closed; shopping is limited standard strip mall shops; other than activities featured in the Treasure Lake community itself (which we did not try to access) you will have to drive 40 minutes or more to find anything additional.
We had a wonderful weekend and loved the layout of the house which was much bigger than we imagined. The 5 bathrooms were a surprise. The location is awesome and we drove to see the elk which we enjoyed. The owners couldn't have been more accommodating and the property was well stocked.

Not accurate
The house/property we rented for the week of 8/14 - 8/20 was very nice, 5 bedrooms and 5 baths in a lovely, wooded setting. However, our rental agreement included pool passes for the outdoor pool complex ( as we had at a different rental on Treasure Lake last year). They were no passes. The contact person (a friend of the owner) told us the pool was closed for repairs. This was a lie. Pool was open. When I called the owner, she made up some story about all passes being confiscated by the HOA and that we could go there and ask to buy a week pass. When I went to the office, the staff at the HOA said the pool passes were taken away from THIS owner because she was making copies and not buying them for her house. So now the owner lied too. Even though we paid for the pool passes in our rental agreement we were unable to utilize a big part of the Treasure Lake experience. VRBO needs to be aware of what is going on here. I trusted the reviews and had hoped VRBO would do some vetting of the properties/homeowners. Last year's rental was great! That's why we were so excited to come back. However, I expect at least a partial refund as the rental agreement was broken by the homeowner. We DID NOT GET WHAT WE PAID FOR!
Sincerely,
Perilinda Pucillo

Mixed Review
Our overall experience was okay. We felt that the description of the house was a little misleading. We had an issue with the pool passes. Members can use the passes, not the guests renting the house. The house fit our family of 13 pretty well, but the house wasn't very clean. A lot of dust, hair and dirt. The table for us to eat at was actually the pool/ping pong table which was a little inconvenient to take the boards/table cloth on and off to eat. There is also no fishing for guests, only members. Lori was good to get back to me rather quickly when messaged.
