Welcome to The Hoot Suite!

Lovingly named after our resident Barred Owl, The Hoot Suite is a one-of-a-kind forest escape and true labor of love. Nestled on four acres of lush PNW forest, this design-forward guesthouse was thoughtfully transformed from a garage and artist studio into a retreat that blends understated luxury with the calm of nature.

Centrally located on the island's Westside, just 15 minutes from either ferry and a short drive to town, The Hoot Suite offers complete privacy in a curated, peaceful setting. Black concrete floors, a warm wood ceiling, and elegant touches throughout create a calm interior, while large windows and skylights showcase lush greenery, letting you wake to birdsong and fully unwind in the quiet of the forest.

Things to Note:
The Hoot Suite is a fully independent space with its own private entrance, privacy fencing, and dedicated parking. It shares one wall with our main residence but has no interior connection, and the soundproofing means you’ll sleep to nothing but birdsong. Your hosts live on the property full-time and are always nearby if you need anything, but most guests say they rarely see us during their visit.

Need more space? At the other end of the property, The Wolf Den, a cozy tiny cabin, can be booked alongside The Hoot Suite to accommodate up to four guests — book both for a full forest compound experience, perfect for friends or an additional couple. Details are available on our hosting profile.

Note about the Goodland Hot Tub:
The firebox will be stocked with kindling and paper when you arrive. Each 2-night stay includes enough firewood, kindling, and paper for one full use, plus possibly extra to reheat the next morning (depending on outside temperatures and time between heatings).
