Before I complain a little, I'd like to point out what a super attentive host Jose was and the house itself is great! You can tell a lot of effort was put into the home and it was very clean. However, the neighborhood is very run down and sketchy looking, but aside from a random homeless person walking around in the evenings, we did not have any issues at all. I'd just recommend keeping your cars inside the garage and exterior door's locked, as you should anyway... Now for the bad, upon our arrival the front door was unlocked (yes in this neighborhood) so I had to do a protective sweep before allowing my family inside. Jose apologized and even sent someone over to open the locked closets to ease my mind. The only other thing we ran into was a lack of maintenance in the pool and hot tub. Pool skimmer was quite full of debris and the hot tub smelled awful. However, Jose sent someone to shock/treat the hot tub. Lastly, the amount of mosquitoes was absolutely terrible and that is because the two lots behind this house are extremely overgrown! Thankfully, we did not have any snakes or pests aside from the mosquitoes... To sum it up, it's a very nice house with a very attentive host, but in a lousy neighborhood.
