About this property

Country View Cabin: Where the only traffic jam is a moose.

Welcome to our cozy cabin, where the trees are tall, the Wi-Fi is probably a rumor (just kidding, we have Wi-Fi), and the only thing "busy" is the local woodpecker.

The Space~
Ever wanted to live in a Hallmark movie without the dramatic breakup? This is it. We’re sitting on over an acre of beautiful Maine woods.

This is a cabin...in the woods. It's rustic inside and out but with all of the amenities of home. Perfect for pretending you’re an outdoorsy explorer while actually just looking for a good spot to nap.

* The Primary Suite: Features a queen bed and a private deck. It’s the perfect place to drink coffee and judge the squirrels.
* The "Fort" Room: A twin-over-double bunk bed. It’s officially for kids to build slumber party forts, but we won't judge the adults who want to hide from their responsibilities in there, too.
* The Chef’s Corner: A full kitchen with a gas stove and a coffee/tea bar—because "roughing it" should never involve a caffeine withdrawal.

The "No-Stress" Driveway~
Are you bad at backing up trailers? Same. That’s why we have a horseshoe driveway. You can enter on one road and exit on the other without ever touching the reverse gear. Just keep driving forward like you’re escaping your problems.

The Gear Heaven~
* The Mud Room: A giant room specifically designed so you don't track the entire Maine forest into the living room.
* The Garage: A one-car garage to keep your "toys" (boats, ATVs, snowmobiles) dry. Because nobody likes a soggy jet ski.
* Location: Schoodic Lake is 3 miles away. Whether you want to catch a fish, ride a trail, or just stand in a field and scream into the void, you’re in the right place.

House Rules:
1. Please bring your K9 friends to the backyard to do their business and keep them on a leash. Unless you like playing 'find the dog' in the woods
1. Relax.
2. Listen to the birds.
3. Don't let the kids' "fort" become a permanent structural addition.
4. Have fun.

Check-out instructions

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:

Lock the doors

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Please ensure you've checked out by 11AM. Unauthorized late departures may result in extra fees (and sad housekeepers)."

You’re in Maine. The bugs like to think of you as friends, so keep the doors closed so the wildlife doesn't try to join you for dinner.

Please bring your K9 pals to the backyard to do their business, and keep a leash on them, unless you want to 'play find the dog' in the woods.

Originally from Western Mass, we decided to swap regular traffic for moose-related traffic in Maine. It turns out, "ease" here means having to decide between fishing, hiking, riding, or just staring at a tree for three hours. We’ve been here four years and have fully embraced the lifestyle: woods, water, snow, and shopping in small towns. Come visit, you’ll love it—just remember to bring bug spray and maybe a flannel.

Why they chose this property

Looking for a place to disappear where the only "notifications" you’ll get are from a confused woodpecker? Welcome to Brownville. We’re the ultimate retreat for anyone whose nervous system is currently vibrating at the frequency of a dial-up modem. If you like engines and mud, we’ve got trails for side-by-sides and snowmobiles that will help you outrun your responsibilities. If you prefer your cardio without a motor, we have hiking trails where the only thing following you is a sense of impending peace (and maybe a very curious squirrel). Then there’s Schoodic Lake—a body of water so versatile it refuses to take a season off. In the summer, you can swim in it; in the winter, you can walk on it and stare into a hole in the ice until you forget your own zip code.Whether you’re here to aggressively relax in total silence or find a new way to get mud on your favorite boots, Brownville has something for everyone. Come for the quiet, stay because you accidentally drove your snowmobile into a snowbank and this is your life now.

What makes this property unique

Our cabin is a home away from home—mostly because you’ll still be doing dishes, but now with a better view. We’ve got a full kitchen, a bathroom (yes, indoor plumbing!), and two bedrooms. The primary bedroom features a private deck overlooking the woods, perfect for drinking your coffee in silence before the kids wake up and ruin the serenity. We’re on a corner lot with a two-way gravel driveway (Schoodic Lake Rd. or Spencer Rd.), which is code for: "You don't have to back up a trailer while your spouse yells directions at you." There’s a massive mudroom to trap all the dirt/gear/smells before they hit the living room, and a giant cherry tree out front that provides enough shade to hide under while the kids burn off their energy in the yard. It’s rustic, it’s cozy, and it’s significantly cheaper than therapy.
