The home was in fantastic setting - overlooking a valley to the wooded hills with a view of the ocean. It was impeccably clean with comfy furniture and beds. The dining and deck furniture were bar height to take advantage of the views. The deck was inspiring. Inside was quiet and welcoming. The location was great for visiting places along the scenic highway. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful view/comfortable home/great area
The view in this place from almost every window is spectacular. Go out on the deck and the view of the tree tops and ocean with sea stacks and you won’t ever want to leave. The home was comfortable and nice-many thoughtful things were left for use like flashlights, extra blankets, towels, soap, shampoo and kitchen supplies. There are grocery stores nearby as well as restaurants, and a quaint downtown area. Pick up some seafood from Pacific Coast Harvesters and cook it out on the deck on the grill! I can’t wait to come back.
The view is spectacular from the deck, when you can sit out. If it is pouring, as it was 2 of the days while we were visiting there are some bar stools that you can move to the window so you can appreciate the view from indoors. The storm was impressive. This is the perfect place for a quiet retreat. The bed is very comfortable and the linens and toiletries are very nice. There is limited phone reception as it only works sometimes on the back deck and we have Verizon. TV requires some buffering from time to time but we just read a book while we were waiting. We greatly enjoyed our time at Whaleshead. If you need ice be sure to pick it up in town. There is a Keurig and coffee maker so bring your favorite coffee. Enjoy!

Overall was clean and comfortable , it’s high up the hill so close to the beach but at a 40 percent incline so be aware when walking back up a good 20/30 min straight up but worth it. Can see the ocean on the deck and window. It was super stormy so we only had one clear night to see the stars but can see an insane amount, lots of frog sounds and very quite! Has a grill but didn’t find the grill utensils however we made due. The bed was comfortable and the couch was nice as well, low to the ground but was nice , had tv and Netflix , as well and a lot of books . Very comfortable . My only suggestion is a better pan to cook with as the sticking made scrubbing a challenge. But had fresh sponges and soap etc . Has everything you’d need, cups, pans keurig and coffee pot , toaster etc. there is a camera outside in the porch so we didn’t really hang out there but it was storming most the time so wasn’t concerning . I’m never a fan of cameras but understand. Had a couple games as well. Heater worked great . I do wish there was a lamp in the living room so we didn’t need to have full light at night but other than that I mean it’s.a good spot, it is within a resort community so not actually private but they set it up to feel private . You won’t see others unless far out on deck and has a cozy sitting area. Had a good warm feel overall , shower had great pressure plenty of towels etc .
