Loved the house nestled in the Redwoods. Clean, hot tub was fantastic, adequate amenities but overall could use a little maintenance- all appliances a bit out of order. Due to lack of cell service, was unable to get connected to management effectively. Pillow upgrades would be a huge improvement.

Relaxing Getway

As a California native who lives in The Bay Area, my favorite spot is the Northern California coast. The house we stayed in has the best of California, being nestled in The Redwoods and bring a 10 minute drive to Highway 1 and Gualala and Sea Ranch.

Redwood Retreat

This is a lovely, quiet setting surrounded by redwoods. The cabin is comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. An extra propane tank for the fire pit would be appreciated, as we had to purchase one.

Wonderful house in the woods

The house is a few minute drive up the hill from Gualala. You are away from the ocean in the misty forest. The house was very clean and the kitchen was (compared to nearly every other vacation rental) very well stocked with basic ingredients and spices, cooking implements, utensils and flatware, etc. Ample sleeping space. The hot tub was in immaculate condition and is great early in the morning or in the evening. Close to all of the coast activities but a nice change of pace from Sea Ranch.

Beautiful surroundings

This is a beautiful house on a forested property just up the hill from the main highway. We loved celebrating our 40th anniversary here! The house is spotlessly clean and has everything you need for a stress free stay. We especially appreciated the fully stocked kitchen, with full size appliances, and a microwave, toaster and two coffee makers (including a Keurig!). There were also spices, flour, sugar, olive oil, and all the pots, pans and bakeware you could need. The living room was comfortable and there were games and DVD's. There is a washer and dryer and covered parking. There is central heating but if you want a fire in the wood stove, bring wood and kindling (which you can get at the Gualala supermarket). The hot tub was heavenly!!!

Nice spot

Slow down when you get close or else you’ll miss it, up a steep small path when you drive up to the house. There are stairs so beware if you have a toddler. Make sure to bring baby gates. There is a room and bathroom downstairs for someone who may not be able to go upstairs. There two bedrooms upstairs and a separate bathroom. They had Roku but the wifi was not working. When contacting customer support, they told me to reset the modem so I did but still didn’t work. Fortunately, they they had a collection of dvds to play on sony dvd player. Fully stocked kitchen. Bring your own food, foil and ziplocs. Drive to the ocean. Couch and love seats recline. Hot tub was nice but beware of mosquitoes. Gas firepit outside with the rocks. They have towels and bedding. Laundry machines. Heater was a smart heater. Took a while to heat up the upstairs rooms so I recommend bringing space heaters. They have a binder of recommendations.

In March the heater wasn’t working.

Our stay here for the weekend was just ok. The area is 10/10. We arrived in the evening and quickly realized the heat was not working in the house. This would not have been a big issue, but the weekend we were there was cold and raining on and off. We contacted the property manager and they had us troubleshoot the thermostat, but it didn’t turn on. Then they asked us to go outside under the raised porch to check if the heater was on or see if the pilot was out. We did that and noticed everything was turned on, but the heater was still not working. They offered to re locate us, but a similar property was not available. There was not enough firewood to keep warm at night and the stores were closed when we got there. There were 2 space heaters that helped, somewhat to warm the bedrooms, but not the common areas. The maintenance staff didn’t came out the following morning and they could not get the heater to work. They brought two bundles of wood, but again not enough for the night and we had to go out and buy wood. I was told the rental company would reach out and try to provide some compensation given the heat was not working the entire weekend, but no one reached out and they didn’t return my call. I think heat is pretty important and you shouldn’t have to spend extra money to buy firewood when the house is listed as having heat and it doesn’t work. It may be a good idea for the rental company to check that heat works before check in. Hot tub was great. House was cold

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent stay. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience was impacted by the issues with the heater, the limited supply of firewood, and the lack of follow-up regarding compensation. We always want our guests to feel comfortable and well taken care of, and we apologize that we fell short during your visit. We understand how frustrating it must have been to arrive at a chilly home and then have to troubleshoot the heating system and purchase additional firewood yourself. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve our service and the experience for future guests. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the area and the hot tub, and we hope we’ll have the opportunity to welcome you back for a much more comfortable stay in the future. We hope you will give us the opportunity to host you again.

Awesome week!!

Location is perfect, close to the beach but high enough up the hill so you get the best of the ocean and mountains. The hot tub is the cherry on top of an awesome vacation home sundae. Spacious, open floor plan, well stocked kitchen, wood burning stove, great water pressure, cozy furniture, nicely decorated and the beds are fabulously comfortable. If I could, I would have never left.

Cabin In The Redwoods

We had a great stay at this house in the woods. Has most things to be quite comfortable and cozy. Hot tub was a nice place to relax in the evening. Neighbors have some dogs so you will hear barking at times. Beautiful hilled garden path in front of house with pretty flowering plants. Overall a relaxing stay surrounded by beauty!

Beautiful property with a warm log cabin ambiance, surrounded by forest. Well maintained, sparkling clean and furnished for a perfect relaxing retreat (the stocked kitchen was a plus). You can wake up to birdsong and end the day in the hot tub under the canopy of trees.

Appreciate having the home away from home conveniences. Kuddos for all the extras and the maintenance overall. Big 5 for the jacuzzi. Your space was well received by the kids, they loved the cabin spirit! Many thanks
